Cause of her sudden death

Known to be best friends with supermodel Kate Moss and late designer Alexander McQueen, Annabelle deeply suffered from her best friend’s death in 2010. In 2015, regarding McQueen, she told the Daily Mail:

“He was my brother, my boyfriend, my soulmate. Most of the time, people called me Mrs McQueen. Quite often we were sharing a bed.”

It is said that Annabelle ‘had a lot of private pain’ according to a source from People.

Aside from Anabelle’s emotional pains, she also had a hard time recovering from a horse riding accident five years back. The source states:

“Coping with the pain was horrific.”

But the exact cause of death hasn’t been revealed by her family.

The other best friend Kate Moss

Besides her close relationship with Alexander, she is also said to be close with supermodel Kate Moss. She described her friendship with Kate Moss in the following words:

Kate is my best mate and I love her like a sister. Yes, she’s an icon but to me, she’s just Kate, we fight over stupid things, then we kiss and makeup.”

Only real best friends don’t care whether their friend is a star or not.

Something is wrong

Just before Neilson’s death, there were multiple pictures of her state which have already been deleted.  One of her pictures included a black and white with the caption “The state of my mind right now.”

But now, we can see a couple of congratulatory messages to her ex-boyfriend Lord Edward Spencer-Churchill’s wedding to Kimberly Hammerstroem at Blenheim Palace as her last posts.

It is said that Neilson passed away on Thursday but what surprised everyone was a new post on her account on Sunday. After the post, her friends wanted to believe the death news was such a bad joke but it was already confirmed. Neilson’s co-star from ‘Ladies of London’, Marissa Hermer posted after the photo was posted in Neilson’s account saying:

“Annabelle is that you?”

But the hope didn’t last long as it was already confirmed and no joking news was heard. And just a few hours earlier, her account was made private.

A strong lady

Born into a family of the aristocrat, Neilson worked as a model for about 20 years. She was the very famous muse of her late designer best friend Alexander McQueen for those twenty years. Not only that but she has also published a series of books for children named The Me Me’s.

In addition to that, Annabelle was also an extrovert beauty with multiple talents. She used to fly helicopters, swim with sharks, and has ridden a motorbike across Australia and competed in a rally across the Himalayas during winter.

To all these facts, she has also revealed her addiction to heroin during her teenage days which she has overcome. After an attack from a man at the age of 16, she had to go through reconstructive surgery because her face was too disfigured after two hours of beating. After that physical pain, she also suffered from mental illness to which she took an escape through heroin:

“I managed to escape with my life but I needed reconstructive surgery because my face was so disfigured. After that, I fell into a serious depression and became a heroin addict because it provided an escape bubble and was the only way I could cope. In a way, heroin saved me because otherwise, I would have killed myself.”

Neilson was indeed a strong lady who the world lost without much knowledge.

Married life

Although Annabelle had the best ones among her friends, her love life couldn’t flourish as much. She was once married to banker Nat Rothschild but it did not last long. Annabelle has even opened up that her ex-husband had asked her to marry him after just half an hour of their first meeting and kept on asking leading to their marriage in  1994 which sadly ended in 1997.

“Nat and I had been together for four years and I was 26 when I married him. He first asked me to marry him half an hour after we met and then every day afterwards. Finally, we decided to do it.”

Her closest friend Alexander had also asked her to get married to him.

“The truth is I was happier with Lee than with anyone else. He asked me to marry him towards the end and I said no. I wish now that I had said yes.”
