Aaron Sorkin shared an open letter speaking about a profile of actor Jeremy Strong published in the latest issue of The New Yorker. In the open letter, he revealed the distorted picture of Jeremy created by the New Yorker.

Since the profile Jeremy came, he has raved about his work on Succession which is why Sorkin decided to speak up. He asked Jessica Chastain to post his open letter.

He decided to speak up about it after reading Michael Schulman’s profile of Jeremy. Michael had asked him five questions through email. In the open letter, he shared the questions and his answers.

One of the questions was asking how Jeremy made the character real to himself. Aaron answered,

“Jeremy’s not a nut. He doesn’t make people call him by his character’s name on the set. But he builds himself an on-ramp so that he’s already started to give the performance by the time the director calls “action.” He’d have off-duty police officers who were working as extras rough him up before a shot, he’d get the crowd whipped up, he doesn’t rest between shots.”

Aaron also cleared that Jeremy would never suggest endangering a member of the cast or crew or anyone else. Sorkin only has good things to say about Jeremy Strong.

He ended the letter by writing,

“Jeremy Strong is a great actor and a great company member. There isn’t a writer, director, or producer on Earth who wouldn’t grab at the chance to cast him.”
