The Bachelor show’s new casting announcement

The reality dating TV show on ABC The Bachelor is looking out for senior citizens to come on their show The Bachelor and be the next Bachelor. The show producers have come out with a casting announcement in which they said that they want elderly people who are seeking love later in their lives.

Senior Vice President of Alternative Series, Specials, and Late-Night Programming for ABC Entertainment, Rob Mills tweeted:

“#Bachelornation give us your Grumpiest Old Men, give us your Goldenest Girls. #TheBachelor.”

In another tweet, Robert revealed that for the show next season, they are looking for senior citizens above the age of 65.

Earlier, in January 2020, Lindsay Liles, supervising producer on the hit ABC show had said:

“Now casting a new show! If you know anyone who is 65+ and looking for love please pass this on! We would love to hear from them!” she wrote alongside an image of a couple embracing on the beach.”

The image was of a senior citizen couple on a beach embracing and on the image was written:

“Are you entering your golden years and looking for romance? The producers of The Bachelor are looking for active and outgoing single men and women age 65 and up for a new exciting dating show!”

The announcement had a link in it which took the readers to another website which was the official casting website. And on this page there was some more information about the project which was under development. It asked the readers about whether they were in their golden age. They added that the show needed single men and women above the age of 65 years.

Besides this project in the pipeline, there is another show which will air on 13 April 2020 Monday. Its name is The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart. In this offshoot of The Bachelor, 20 single people will start a journey together to find love through music. They will sing popular songs solo as well as in duets. They would try to find attractions and compatibility through melodies. And they would see whether by expressing their feelings through songs, they can fall in love.

The idea for this shoot-off might have come from the reactions of the fans to the age group of the previous cast members. Most were in their 20s. One fan had commented:

“They seriously need to raise the age limit on The Bachelor, Yes, people settle down at 23 but there is no reason to go on a dating show where you get engaged at the end at 23 years old.”

But now this new announcement seems to have made the fans more curious and interested.
