Actress Liz Gillies marries her boyfriend Michael Corcoran after the April 2020 postponement due to coronavirus!
At last! Couples have been dejected due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many had to postpone their weddings and were depressed and frustrated. And now with some relaxation in restrictions, weddings are happening!
Actress Liz Gillies also had her wedding now with her boyfriend Michael Corcoran! They were forced to postpone their wedding which was scheduled earlier in April 2020.
Liz Gillies has an intimate wedding
The actress on Dynasty, Liz Gillies, 27 ultimately managed to wed her boyfriend music composer Michael Corcoran this year. The couple had earlier set the date as April 2020. But the COVID-19 pandemic pushed it forward. The wedding took place on 8 August 2020 but she announced it now on her Instagram on 16 September 2020.
Liz uploaded several nice photos of this outdoor occasion. The wedding was a small one with close friends and family members only. They held the ceremony in a garden. Liz simply put up the caption:
“8•8•20,”
And in one of the photos, Liz and Michael, 47 are standing and exchanging wedding vows in front of a floral arch. And in a second photo, they are in a sweet embrace.
Liz’s interview with Vogue
Liz gave an exclusive interview to Vogue magazine. She revealed that their initial wedding date was 25 April 2020 which was the date of their French bulldog Otis’ birthday. She narrated:
“Once we saw how dire the situation was, we knew we had to postpone. It was a no-brainer for us. Aside from the obvious travel and crowd restrictions, it didn’t feel right to be celebrating in such a big way when there was so much going on in the world. It would have been in poor taste to burden people by asking them to risk their lives to come to our wedding. There were more important things to focus on. Our wedding could wait.”
And Michael added:
“It really focused everything down to what matters in life. A big, extravagant experience in the middle of a pandemic didn’t make any sense.”
The wedding venue change
The wedding was to happen at St. Regis Atlanta. But now it took place at the Inn at Fernbrook Farms in New Jersey. Only 10 guests attended the nuptials. Liz’s grandmothers were also attending. They had got themselves tested before the wedding. She explained:
“We got tested before we left and quarantined with my family for two weeks before the wedding,”
Liz added:
“With everything going on, it felt so nice to be in my childhood home with nothing to do but relax leading up to the big day. We cooked and took the dogs for long walks and really just enjoyed each other’s company.”
“It felt good to slow down. Overall, we were very fortunate to be able to safely spend this time with family. It was incredibly special,”
Liz was in a satin wedding dress which Britt Wood Designs designed and created. She also wore Jimmy Choo shoes and blue jewels. Liz’s dog Bubba was the ring bearer and her father was the officiant. She said that the road to their wedding was long. They had to wait so long and in between, it felt impossible. But now the two are happy and feel blessed!
