Why Ali Wong and Justin Hakuta are getting divorced?
Well, the now-estranged couple hasn’t disclosed the specific cause for their split. However, Ali’s quips about her private life, which she constantly bragged about in many of her comedy performances, might be the reason for their divorce.
In a recent episode of her Netflix stand-up special, Don Wong, joked,
“It’s true, and now if we get divorced, their son is f***ed. No more sashimi on a Tuesday! No more fancy Japanese toilet bidet where water comes out and Hello Kitty sings the song until your butthole’s fresh and clean. Go back to drinking flat water, b*tch!”
Similarly, Wong often mentioned how Hakuta’s family coerced her into signing a prenuptial agreement in her comedy specials. In 2019, she recalled her nuptials during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She said,
“I got married at City Hall because I didn’t want a formal wedding. As a stand-up comic, I was thinking, ‘I don’t want to walk down the aisle for 60 seconds while people stare at me in silence.’ That would give me PTSD”
