Double Joy of a bundle! Alicia Quarles is blessed with twins baby
Good Morning America contributor Alicia Quarles is now a mother to twins. The new mom shared the happy news to PEOPLE announcing the birth of her fraternal twins.
Quarles also reveals the names of her infants. She told the outlet exclusively,
“Hudson and Harlow are in the house!”
The 41-year-old television personality gave birth to her children via a caesarian section on February 16. She explains the reasons why doctors choose a C-section,
“My girl was breech and wouldn’t turn. “I had no idea about this recovery.”
The babies stay in the hospital for a few more days after the delivery, however, they are now “one hundred percent healthy,” and Quarles is also recovering well and in good spirits.
The happy news comes shortly after Alicia’s challenging life. She endured a public mental health catastrophe in 2022, right after she discovered she was pregnant.
Alicia Quarles shared glimpses of her pregnancy experience
The broadcast journalist gave candid about her experience becoming a mother and described pregnancy as “shocking”. She expressed,
“I actually froze my eggs at 39…I was preparing to go to a sperm donor and everything. I still have 17 eggs on ice, never used. I knew I wanted to have kids I just was shocked when they said twins!”
Alicia became pregnant naturally later, however, she hasn’t yet revealed the father of her babies. She continued,\
“I just felt a total peace come over me and I felt like it all made sense, that I was meant to carry these babies, despite my age. All odds were against me…and I have fibroids. During the c-section they removed a fibroid the size of a grapefruit.”

Quarles claims that throughout this difficult time, she had a strong support system, which included her ABC coworkers. She said that during her pregnancy, she was encouraged to take the time necessary to become physically and psychologically healthy.
She said,
“I want to shout out my employer, friends and family for rallying around me.”
The new mama then ends her statement by encouraging all women, regardless of age, to follow their maternal goals. She concludes,
“I think in my heart I was kind of hopeless, But look at God, If I can do it, you can, too. It might not be biological, it might take a different route, but you can do it.”
