- John Hagee is a senior pastor and the founder of the Cornerstone Church which is a megachurch in San Antonio, Texas.
- He is also the CEO of a non-profit organization called Global Evangelism Television.
- He has his own John Hagee Ministries and his telecasts are aired on radio and TV around the world.
- He is both appreciated and criticized for many of his speeches.
John Hagee’s controversial views
John Hagee supports Israel and its people. His support for Israel has been criticized heavily and his views and statements on Roman Catholic Church and Islam have also been met with opposition.
Journalist Bill Moyers had said:
“Someone who didn’t know better could imagine from the very name Christians United For Israel—CUFI—that pastor John Hagee speaks for all Christians. Well, he doesn’t … What these fellows have forged is a close connection between the [George W. Bush] White House and the religious right.”
Reform Rabbi Eric Yoffie, a Jewish leader also has been against John Hagee and feels that he is an extremist on Israeli policy. He has also remarked on the pastor’s resentment of the other religions.
Many of John’s writings, speeches, and beliefs have been considered anti-catholic and John had 2008 issued an apology for it. He has also written a lot about Catholic anti-Semitism.
He says that Hitler’s anti-Jew attitude was due to his Catholic background. Hagee also clarified that when he talks of Catholics, he is pointing and referring to those Catholics who harbor anti-Jew feelings.
In 2006, John had said:
“those who live by the Qur’an have a scriptural mandate to kill Christians and Jews … it teaches that very clearly.”
He also explained the threat from militant Islamists to the world and the US. Some of his writings imply anti-Semitism.
He also prophesied that Earth will end in 2015 after four Blood Moons. But none of his predictions came through and the scientific world and others criticized him for such unfounded statements.

His relationship with Jews and Israel
John Hagee had visited Israel more than 24 times. He has had meetings with every President of Israel. He donated several million dollars to assist the Jews in returning to Israel from the Soviet Union.
His Ministries have also funded several Jewish orphanages and donated money for worthy causes for the Jews around the world.
He is the main person who arranges the event ‘A Night to Honor Israel’ which tries to increase and express the solidarity between Jews and Christians.
In 2006, he founded the Christians United for Israel. He received death threats for forming this organization and now is protected by bodyguards.
Hagee has received several honors for his work for Israel and Jews. He got the Humanitarian of the Year award, and also the Zionist Organization of America‘s Israel Award from the Jewish Community of Dallas, Texas. Texas Governor Mark White also presented John with the ZOA service award.
His political stands
John Hagee also endorses candidates for the Presidential race. In 1996, John Hagee supported presidential primary candidate Alan Keyes.
In the year 2002, John was in support of the conservative State Representative John Shields when he was contesting the Republican primary for the District 25 seat in the Senate of Texas. He had even spoken against Shields’ opponent in the race.

In 2008, John Hagee was for Senator John McCain in the Presidential race against Barack Obama. In the famous 2016 Presidential contest, John Hagee was in full support of Donald Trump and did not favor Hillary Clinton.
