New couple in town! Comedian turned podcaster Amy Poehler is reportedly dating Joel Lovell. Joel is the executive editor at Pineapple Street Studios, a company that produces podcasts.

According to a report from PEOPLE, the couple has been enjoying each other’s company since earlier this summer. Amy and Poehler may have met through their mutual connection to Audacy, a broadcasting company based in Philadelphia that owns Pineapple Street Studios.

Audacy is also the company behind Poehler’s 2023 scripted comedy podcast Say More with Dr. Sheila, in which she portrayed a marriage counselor.

Amy is the mother of two teenage sons, Archibald William Emerson Arnett, and Abel James Arnett. Archibald will turn 16 on October 25, while Abel is 14.

Both boys are from her marriage to actor Will Arnett, who is known for his role in Blades of Glory. The couple were married for nine years before they divorced amicably in 2016.

Furthermore, Poehler has previously been linked to actor John Stamos, comedian Nick Kroll, and trademark lawyer Benjamin Graf.

Joel Lovell is the executive editor at Pineapple Street Studios. He edited several original narrative podcasts, including “Missing Richard Simmons,” “9/12,” and “Wind of Change.” In addition, he has produced two of these podcasts including “Missing Richard Simmons” and “Wind of Change.”

Before joining Pineapple Street Studios, Lovell worked at This American Life and the New York Times Magazine. On This American Life, he contributed to the first two seasons of the podcast “Serial.”

Furthermore, Joel is the father of three daughters, Addie, who is 23 years old, Tess, who is 21, and Julia, who is 17.

Amy Poehler has had a successful film career and has recently transitioned into podcasting, moving from comedian to podcaster. In March 2023, her production company, Paper Kite, expanded its partnership with Audacy, a Philadelphia-based broadcasting company.

They then launched a comedy podcast titled Say More with Dr. Sheila. This podcast quickly became popular, reaching the top of the Apple Podcasts comedy chart and receiving notable recognition from The Times.

Additionally, another show from this collaboration is Million Dollar Advice, produced by Pineapple Street Media under the leadership of Joel Lovell. Interestingly, Lovell’s Pineapple Street Studios is also owned by Audacy.

On October 10, Poehler will be awarded the Robin Williams Legacy of Laughter Award, presented by the late comedian’s children, Zak, Zelda, and Cody, during the 12th annual Revels & Revelations fundraiser for Bring Change to Mind in Woodside, California.

Following this event, on October 20, she will be honored with the Variety Legend & Groundbreaker Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival in Newport, California.

Earlier this year, Poehler expressed her thoughts on podcasting at a conference, stating,

“I would argue that podcasts have replaced a lot of television in terms of the feeling of having a lot of people you know be in your space. We used to watch TV and visit the characters we like, and I think we do that now with podcasts. We want to check in and see how someone is doing.”
