‘Split alert‘! Anderson. Paak and Jaylyn Chang are no longer a married couple.
On Friday, January 12, the Silk Sonic hitmaker, 37, filed for divorce from his wife in the Los Angeles Courts.
The divorce comes after more than a decade of marriage.
According to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE, the rapper is requesting joint physical and legal custody of their sons Soul Rasheed, 13, and Shine Tariq, 6.

Besides, he asked the court to terminate its ability to award spousal support to Chang.
The documents further listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce but didn’t record their date of separation.
Anderson. Paak: Marriage Life, Children
According to a legal document, Anderson. Park and Chang married on November 23, 2010. Before Chang, he was earlier married once.
In a July 2016 interview with The Breakfast Club, the performer revealed that he was married for the first time at age 21.
He was married to his first wife for two years, however, hasn’t disclosed any details about her in the media. At the time, he referred to Chang as the “only wife that matters”.
Chang is an immigrant gospel rock singer from South Korea. The two met at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood.
While Chang was taking a vocal course at the institution, his now ex-husband was working as a teaching assistant.
The Grammy winner introduced himself as a quarter Korean because his mom is half black and half Korean. In an April 2023 interview with Hypebeast, he said,
“My mom is half Black and half Korean, so I’m a quarter Korean, but I never knew much about my Korean culture until when I was married to my wife, who is fully Korean,”
“My kids pretty much see themselves as Korean. Raising [biracial] kids, there’s a dynamic of ‘all right, you got this side and you got this side’ and teaching ‘em about both.”
Further, he reflected on the time when he spent with his wife and kids during the pandemic. He said,
“My son was really into YouTube, so I was like, ‘We should do skits,’ because he’s naturally funny and he dances. I started helping him film skits, and then he would help me edit them,”
“It made me want to make a movie with him,”
