American reality TV actress, Ashley Darby, 36 has revealed that she has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Michael. They have been married for 10 years now. Know all the details about her relationship and married life.

Ashley Darby files for divorce

American TV personality and actress on the Bravo show The Real Housewives of Potomac, Ashley Darby, 36 has filed for legal separation from her husband, Michael after ten years of marital relationship. It is the end. Earlier, around two years back, Ashley had stated that she and Michael are separated. But they had not filed for divorce in court at that time.

In April 2022, she had told Daily Dish media outlet that she has split from Michael. She said:

“Almost eight years ago, when Michael and I said ‘I do,’ we anticipated sharing every single day together from that moment forward,”
“Unfortunately, that is not our current reality. We have decided to separate.”

Talking about the reason, she explained:

“We are aware that there will be many speculative views as to why we have made this decision.”
“People will be quick to assume that the causes were too much intrusion by reality TV into the most personal parts of our lives, age gap issues, cultural problems, or child-rearing differences.”
“Pieces of all these may have affected our pure love for each other, but no one reason is the root cause of our mutual decision to go our separate ways.”

The relationship of the couple

It was in 2016 that the show The Real Housewives of Potomac made its start on Bravo TV. And two years prior to this, in May 2014 Ashley had married Michael. Michael is Australian and the owner of restaurants. He also dabbles into major reality deals. There is a wide age gap of 29 years between Ashley and Michael.

Ashley conceived their first child and gave birth to a son named Dean on 7 July 2019.

She suffered postpartum blues during the first month after delivery. Ashley was also very open about her postpartum depression following the first delivery. She had pain and wrote on her Instagram for her fans:

“Hello, my darlings. I’m checking in with you,”
“I am officially 15 days postpartum. Dean turned 2 weeks yesterday. And today I experienced my first bout of postpartum blues.”

Later, in March 2021, Ashley delivered her second baby, son Dylan. And in 2022 came the split.

Ashely is the child of a single mother. Her mother’s name is Sheila Matthews. Ashley grew up in Silver Spring in Maryland. Ashley used to work as a teenager to add some extra income to make ends meet of the family. She also has two younger half-siblings; Zach Smith who is a musician and Jessica.

After her school, Ashley joined University of Maryland College Park from where she graduated with a degree in communications. She started work as a bartender at one of the restaurants of Michael. It is probably here that the two met. In 2011, she won the Miss District of Columbia title and was representing the district at the Miss America beauty contest.
