Barbara Helen Fried, professionally known as Barbara Fried, is an American lawyer. Currently, she is serving as the William W. and Gertrude H. Saunders Professor of Law at Stanford Law School.
Barbara is also famously known for being the mother, of Sam Bankman-Fried aka Samuel Benjamin Bankman-Fried. He is an American entrepreneur, investor, and the former chief executive officer (CEO) of the bankrupt crypto exchange, FTX.
On 12 December 2022, he was arrested in the Bahamas, as he was charged with multiple crimes such as laundering and wire fraud.

As an advocate, she co-founded the political fundraising organization, Mind the Gap, for the candidates of the Democratic Party. She also donated $75,000 to Mind the Gap in 2018.
