Bill Cosby-the sexual assault case ends as declared mistrial by the judges. Camille Cosby’s statement posted on Mr. Cosby’s twitter account
- Bill Cosby- his sexual assault case which was re-opened on Monday, 5th June ended after it was declared a mistrial by the judges.
- The 79-year-old comedian was accused by more than 60 women having similar stories of sexual assault, which dated back to 2004.
Though Cosby’s attorneys have declared their victory and the proper justice, the opponent’s team has declared to re-opening the case soon.
The case was declared a mistrial as the accuser’s statements had inconsistencies and proper performance by the defense team.
In 53 hours long consideration by the court, 12 questions were asked by the jurors. Andrea Constand along with the other accusers and their lawyers were left dumbstruck after the court was adjourned.
Cosby’s victory?
When Bill Cosby came out of the court, he was all silent but his spokesman Andrew Wyatt pumped his fist in the air and declared that Cosby’s “power is back.”
In order to be clear about the justice in the case, Judge Steven O’Neill declared that he had to do this because the accuser’s side was deadlocked in the court.
He said,
Do not feel like you’ve let the justice system down. It’s not a failure or a victory.
The legal team also spoke about the ending of the case.
Angela Agrusa, Cosby’s legal team member said:
Juries are stuck when a prosecutor seeks to put someone in prison for things that are simply not presented in the courtroom. And the jury stuck to what they were asked to do, and that is to review the evidence before them and there simply wasn’t enough.
We came here looking for an acquittal but like that Rolling Stones song says, ‘You can’t always get what you want. But sometimes you get what you need.’
Mrs. Cosby’s statement
Bill Cosby’s wife, Camille had her own statement to it, which was shared by her spokesperson. Although she was there at the court supporting her husband on Wednesday, June 7, she couldn’t attend on the day of judgment but had her statement sent.
The statement spoke about how justice was always there no matter what. She also thanked the counselors and their well-wishers.
It said:
How do I describe the District Attorney? Heinously and exploitively ambitious. How do I describe the judge? Overtly and arrogantly collaborating with the District Attorney. How do I describe the counsels for the accusers? Totally unethical. How do I describe many, but not all, general media? Blatantly vicious entities that continually disseminated intentional omissions of truths for the primary purpose of greedily selling sensationalism at the expense of a human life.
Historically, people have challenged injustices. I am grateful to any of the jurors who tenaciously fought to review the evidence; which is the rightful way to make a sound decision … ultimately, that is a manifestation of justice, based on facts, not lies. As a very special friend once stated, ‘truth can be subdued, but not destroyed.’
Moreover, I express humongous gratitude to counselors Brian McMonagle and Angela Agrusa for their hard work. Mr. McMonagle for his passionate and powerful articulations of truths; Ms. Agrusa for her thorough research to bolster Counsel McMonagle; to Mr. Andrew Wyatt for his unequivocal skills in public relations; to our team, who worked diligently and intelligently; to our staffs for their continuous commitment to our family and me … and to our children, grandchildren, and other family who loves us … and to our dear friends and supporters, who never gave up on us, despite it all.
Later, the statement was posted on Bill Cosby’s Twitter account as well.

Is it a victory or the truth is yet to come?
Though the judges have ended the case and “America’s Dad” has saved his name and fame, the prosecutors have declared to retry the case.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said that they are going to review the case. Andrea Constand’s legal team released a statement thanking Mr. Steele for the support.
It said:
We are confident that these proceedings have given a voice to the many victims who felt powerless and silenced. We commend those prosecutors who raised awareness that one of the hallmarks of drug-related sexual assaults is the effect the drug has on the victim’s memory and ability to recall and were nonetheless willing to present this evidence to the jury.
So, let’s just wait for the re-opening of the case and see if Cosby will be declared to be a winner then as well.
