Amazon founder Jeff Bezos plans is aiming to give away the majority of his $124 billion net worth. His recent plans for philanthropy include his developing interest in helping people fight climate change and perform humanitarian reform.
It’s the very first time, Bezos is getting more inclined toward donation and charity after he found love in journalist-turned-philanthropist, partner Lauren Sánchez.
Jeff’s decision to his charity comes after a sit-down interview with CNN’s Chloe Melas on Saturday at his Washington, DC, home. He and his girlfriend Lauren Sánchez are building the capacity to be able to give away this money.
Why did not Jeff Bezos sign the Giving Pledge campaign?
The Giving Pledge is a campaign that collects wealthy people around the globe. It includes those who share a common interest in contributing a majority of their wealth to philanthropic causes. To date, there are more than 200 signatures from 28 countries vowing to serve humanitarian.
Previously, Critics have chided Bezos for not signing the Giving Pledge, which most of the richest people, including his ex-wife Scott signed for charitable causes. But now, without such agreement, the right time had come when he realized to donate what he have is a must for the global cause.

Bezos granted the Bezos Courage and Civility Award worth $100 Million to Dolly Parton
The 58-year-old Amazon founder Jeff Bezos recently gave $100m to the country singer Dolly Parton to give to charities of her choice as part of Bezos’s annual Courage and Civility award.
Jeff Bezos after pledging the award made vows to give a vast amount of his net worth to charity throughout his life. He along with his girlfriend Sánchez agreed to their first interview together. It helped shine a spotlight on the Bezos Courage and Civility Award and share some more insights on their charity programs.
Bezos also speaks about his political forte and a possible economic recession. They mentioned Sánchez’s plan to visit outer space with an all-female crew after receiving her helicopter pilot license. She had also started Black Ops Aviation.
Lauren Sánchez who currently serves as vice chair of the Bezos Earth Fund is launching donations and vows regarding the funds to help those impacted by halting climate change.
