The identity of the victim who was stabbed to death on the dancefloor of a nightclub in Birmingham on Boxing Day is Cody Fisher.
The 23-year-old Fisher was on a night out at Crane in central Birmingham with his friends and never had he imagined the horrific attack which would take his life.
The brutal attack which took place just before 11.45 pm on December 26, 2022, has shredded the whole Fisher family. Meanwhile, the West Midlands Police launched a murder investigation shortly before the grieved family announced the death news,
“They have broken our hearts; I have lost my best friend. My family and I are asking for privacy and respectfulness at this heart-breaking time.”
On Boxing day, The Crane venue was full of music, with the sounds of Italian DJ Marco Carola and British artists Steve Lawler and Mason Maynard.
Fisher was enjoying himself, while his life vanished in no seconds as the Night club announced his demise on Instagram,
“We are deeply shocked and saddened that a man lost his life last night as our Boxing Day event came to a close. Our thoughts are with the victim, and his family and friends.”
Investigations on the death of Cody Fisher
No arrests have been made while the murderer search is still ongoing after the emergency was declared at the club just days before New Year’s Eve.
CCTV footage of the nightclub is extracted while witnessing Zarius who was at Crane sadly confessed how he tried to save Cody’s life saying,
“Something no one should ever have to see. My heart aches for Cody and his family, he should be here today, but basic safety protocols are never carried out in these clubs. Worthless individuals who carry weapons can get in just as easy as someone like me, who wouldn’t even ever consider taking a weapon anywhere.”
Det Insp Michelle Thurgood of West Midlands Police, leading the investigation, earlier in a press conference detailing the crime scene and the brutal murder of Cody Fisher saying,
“This was a young man enjoying himself with friends on a Boxing Day night out and our thoughts are with his friends and family today. We know there were hundreds of people in the nightclub at the time.
On talking about collecting the evidence and reaching the prime suspect for the killing of Fisher added,
“While we’ve spoken to a number of them already, we still need to hear from anyone who was there and who witnessed or even filmed what happened. We believe that the victim was approached by a group of people, and was then stabbed, so we’re working hard to identify all of those involved.”
