Happy Married Life! Bobby Witt Jr. married his longtime girlfriend Maggie Black on Saturday, December 14, at the Thompson Hotel in Dallas.

Maggie, who is also his personal trainer, expressed that their winter wedding felt like “a long time coming,” as they have been together since high school.

She shared her excitement about finally being able to call each other husband and wife, stating,

“We are just super excited to finally be married.”

Her stepbrother, Ryon Phillips, has officiated the wedding ceremony.

During this event, the bride and groom recited traditional vows after privately exchanging handwritten vows during their first look.

The processional included several of the couple’s favorite worship songs.

Similarly, their wedding was attended by 300 guests, including the entire Kansas City Royals team and notable MLB all-stars like Andrew Benintendi, Whit Merrifield, Cole Ragans, and Rusty Greer.

Babby and Black initially wanted a church wedding. However, they decided to hold their ceremony and reception at the Thompson to simplify logistics for their many out-of-town guests.

Similarly, they creatively converted a ballroom into a chapel with custom stained-glass windows by Vim + Venture, which gives an intimate church-like atmosphere.

Bobby and Maggie were high school sweethearts who met while attending Colleyville Heritage High School in Texas.

They quickly formed a close bond and began dating at a young age.

After graduating, Maggie pursued a Health and Exercise Science degree at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Meanwhile, Bobby was drafted by the Kansas City Royals

Maggie walked down the aisle wearing a wedding gown designed by Elizabeth Lee, which featured a structured bodice and a dramatic open back.

She described the wedding dress, saying,

“I knew I did not want sparkles or lace, so I had somewhat of a vision in my head before walking into the bridal boutique. Alongside the designer, I brought my vision to life into the perfect wedding dress, I couldn’t wait for Bobby to see it.”

She completed her bridal look with chic Christian Louboutin shoes and jewelry from Happy Jewelers.

The bride changed into a second outfit designed by Elizabeth Lee Bridal for the reception and paired it with Golden Goose sneakers. She explained,

“I wanted something  fun and flirty for my second look of the evening, Keeping with the structured bodice of my wedding dress, we added beading and pearls to give a little flair.”

On the other hand, Witt looked stylish in a custom tuxedo from State & Liberty.

He completed his outfit with luxurious velvet loafers from Christian Louboutin that matched his black velvet jacket.

Also, he wore a two-tone Rolex Daytona watch with a black dial.

He changed into a white dinner coat paired with white sneakers for the reception.

Bobby and Maggie turned their dream wedding into reality, with the help of event planner Leslie Ochs from Alice and Apricot Weddings. They express their gratitude, noting,

“It made it super stress-free with us being busy during baseball season. She kept us on track so all we had to do was show up and enjoy,”

The newlywed couple aimed to create an “unforgettable experience” for their guests, with the bride expressing their desire for a fun wedding that would leave a lasting impression.

She stated,

“We told [Ochs] that we wanted our wedding to be fun and something that our friends would never stop talking about, Our goal was to throw the party of the year.”

The event’s design team chose a sophisticated color palette of black, white, and fern green, aiming to achieve a “timeless yet sleek and modern” look.

Ochs explains to PEOPLE.

“Bobby loves bold patterns so I incorporated a lot of fun pattern play into the overall design of the event, There were so many fun details throughout the design that incorporated Bobby’s love for baseball and Maggie’s personality with the warm and classy atmosphere.”

Newlyweds delight guests with a whimsical Whataburger-Themed wedding feast

Guests enjoyed a plated dinner with two entree options, Rosewood beef filet, and Dijon herb-crusted chicken.

For dessert, they enjoyed slices of a four-tier wedding cake made by Refined Sugars Bakery, which included almond, graham cracker, and chocolate flavors.

After the ceremony, the couple surprised their guests with a replica Whataburger restaurant built by a team of over 100 people at the venue.

This pop-up included booths, tables, an ordering counter, a drinks and condiments station, and real Whataburger employees to serve the guests.

Witt and Black have fond memories of visiting their local Whataburger after high school baseball and football games.

Additionally, Witt has established a partnership with the brand. However, guests were thrilled to order their favorite menu items from the newlyweds’ special pop-up restaurant.

Maggie Black reflects on her wedding experience, describing it as the “best night of their lives” and adds,

“I wish we could do it again!”

Now that she and Bobby Witt Jr. are officially married, she is excited about having “a lifelong partner through the good, the bad, and everything in between.”

Witt shares that marrying Black means having his “lifetime person and best friend” by his side forever. He further revealed her admiration, explaining,

“I love who she is as a person, how kind she is to every person she talks to, and how she lights up a room when she walks in it”

Black, who considers Witt her “best friend,” appreciates their ability to be themselves around each other, noting,

“I also love how he is goofy and fun with me at home, which is not a side everyone else gets to see from the spotlight,”

Furthermore, the couple is planning a honeymoon in “somewhere tropical.” Witt said,

“We are so excited to unplug and spend quality time with each other on the beach,”

Looking ahead, Black expresses hope for expanding their family in the future.
