Reflecting on their first meeting, Windham-Burke shared with PEOPLE that they had been communicating via direct messages and phone calls for a few weeks before finally meeting in person.
Initially, both thought their meeting would be casual and friendly.
Spinner even mentioned she was curious about the experience, thinking it would make for a funny story to share with her friends about hanging out with a reality TV star.
During their first day together, they walked the High Line, enjoyed popsicles, and engaged in deep conversation. Windham-Burke recalled,
“There wasn’t a topic we didn’t discuss that first day, We got deep, fast. It was, ‘What’s important to you? What do you want out of life? What’s your relationship with your family? Do you want children? Are you spiritual?’ We talked about it all. Through that, we found we had all these things in common. And we quickly started to realize, ‘Oh, this is something else.'”
Similarly, their first kiss took place on Little Island. The reality TV star reminisced about how they continued to kiss for two hours while heading back to Penn Station, feeling reluctant to part ways.
January 2023: Exchange Promise Rings
In January 2023, Braunwyn and Jennifer celebrated the New Year with a private commitment ceremony in North Carolina, where they exchanged promise rings.
Braunwyn shared that they made a vow to each other to spend their lives together. She told PEOPLE,
“We did begin 2023 with a promise to one another to spend the rest of our lives together, We were in North Carolina on New Year’s Eve, And at 11:59, we did a little commitment ceremony to each other where we exchanged rings and told the other, ‘I love you, I want to be with you, this is my promise to you, this is where we’re headed, I want to spend the rest of my life with you.'”
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum mentioned that the ceremony was a special moment just for the two of them, describing it as “really intimate and beautiful.”
However, she clarified that this commitment was “not an engagement yet” because she was still going through her divorce from her ex-husband, Sean Burke.
February 2023: Commitment Ceremony at Graceland Wedding Chapel
Braunwyn and Jennifer held a commitment ceremony at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.
This ceremony was not legally binding because Braunwyn was still in the process of divorcing her estranged husband.
Braunwyn filed for divorce in the fall of 2022 after being married for over 20 years. She shared seven children with Sean, Bella, 22, Rowan, 20, Jacob, 17, 9-year-old twins Caden and Curren, Koa, 7, and Hazel, 4.
On Valentine’s Day, the lovebirds shared separate posts on their Instagram pages from the ceremony.
Braunwyn’s post featured a picture of them kissing in front of the chapel. She then captioned the post,

Meanwhile, Jennifer shared the same picture that Braunwyn posted and wrote a heartfelt note in her caption.
She described Braunwyn as gorgeous, sweet, smart, and hilarious. Jennifer concluded her message by saying,

July 2023: Braunwyn proposed to Jennifer
On their first anniversary, Braunwyn proposed to Jennifer at 14th Street Park in New York City, the same place where they shared their first kiss.
To make the moment special, Braunwyn recreated their first date and wore the same dress she had on that day.
The following day, Jennifer expressed her feelings about the proposal on Instagram, sharing photos and writing,
“Today is also the day that @braunwynwindhamburke asked me to marry her and, of course, I said “h*ll yes”. Our love is fast, messy, pure, real, and made up of all of the things I used to dream about having when I would daydream during 7th period math,”
When Jennifer went on her first date with Braunwyn, she imagined what it would be like to date a Housewife but was unaware of the journey they would embark on together.
In her caption, she added,
“Braunwyn, Sean, and the kids have brought things into my life that I never even knew I was missing, and tomorrow looks so much brighter with all of this love an dlight in it. Yes today, Yes tommrrow. Yes forever my love,”
October 2023: Second proposal
On October 28, 2023, Jennifer proposed to Braunwyn, marking another engagement milestone just three months after Braunwyn had initially proposed to Jennifer.
This heartfelt proposal took place at their Tennessee home and was made even more special by the involvement of Braunwyn’s four youngest children.
The children participated by holding a sign that read “Will you marry me?” while showering the couple with confetti.
In her Instagram post, Spinner expressed her joy, stating,
“Today I asked my best friend in this world… if they wanted to make this little family that we’re forming forever,”
Similarly, the RHOC alum shared her excitement on social media, stating,

December 2024: Say “I Do” in an Intimate Nashville Home Wedding
Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Jennifer Spinner celebrated their “last minute” marriage at home in Nashville on December 4, 2024.
The couple exchanged vows in front of five of Windham-Burke’s seven children.
While Bella, 24, Hazel, 6, Koa, 9, and 11-year-old twins Caden and Curren were present at the ceremony, Rowan, 22, and Jacob, 19, could not attend due to being out of state.
The alumna of The Real Housewives of Orange County told PEOPLE that their intimate wedding was a way to express their love and commitment. She told the outlet,
“This is just about us and us saying, ‘You know what? We love each other. Let’s do this, And then when we actually have the big wedding, we won’t be as stressed out and we’ll be like, ‘This is just a party with our friends.'”
Similarly, Windham-Burke shared that they invite their friends to their wedding on short notice. She explained,
“I literally this morning [Dec. 3] sent a text to our friends in Nashville, ‘We’re getting married tomorrow if you’re free,’ So we’re going to have some of our friends here, but that is how we live our life like, ‘Let’s do this.'”
Although their home wedding had a small guest list, they plan to invite everyone to a larger celebration in Guatemala, which Windham-Burke describes as “Indiana Jones meets Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.”
They also have upcoming weddings planned in California and New York primarily for their grandmothers, who cannot travel.
Initially, Braunwyn and Jennifer had planned for a larger wedding celebration in October 2026 across locations in Guatemala, California, and New York.
However, they moved their wedding date up “due to the uncertainty and the political and social climate around LGBTQ+ rights in Tennessee.”
Spinner expressed her concerns about the potential for same-sex marriage to be returned to state control under Donald Trump’s presidency.
