Why did Mariah and Tanaka’s relationship end?
Rumors of the Grammy winner, 54, and Tanaka, 40, calling it quits first made headlines during the singer took her annual trip to Aspen, Colorado earlier this month without Bryan.
The dancer also remained absent from Carey’s Merry Christmas One and All! tour, which kicked off last month at the Yaamava Resort & Casino in Highland, Calif.
Sources also claimed that the reason behind the couple’s break up was Tanaka, who is 14 years Carey’s junior, wanted to start a family and Mariah did not.
The insider said,
“That’s not where she is at,”
“[Tanaka] wants to start having his own life.”
The duo met when he was a dancer in 2006 on Carey’s Adventures of Mini-tour.
After starting their relationship in 2016, Mariah confirmed it, saying,
“I’m just going to be like, ‘I really don’t talk about my personal life.’ Because that’s what I used to do, and it really worked for a minute, back, a while ago. I just don’t feel comfortable talking about my personal life … Me and my boyfriend don’t want to do that.”
Mariah already shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, 12, with her ex-husband Nick Cannon. Bryan, on the other hand, doesn’t have any kids.
The last time Carey and Tanaka made their public appearance was during their getaway for her birthday in March.
