Buckingham Palace released the invite to King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation on Tuesday.
Confirming that the historical event will take place on May 6, 2023, at the Abbey Church of Westminster, the royal family’s official website said over 2,000 invitations will go out in a few days.
Andrew Jamieson was the designer of the invite of one of the most anticipated royal moments of the 21st century.
Jamieson, a skilled, heraldic artist designed the invite inspired by ‘‘the chivalric themes of Arthurian legend — features the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign.”
Along with the invitation, the palace also released a new portrait of Charles and Camilla. She has dropped the word Consort from her title as it was “too cumbersome,” reports the Daily Mail.
The source explained,
“It made sense to refer to Her Majesty as the Queen Consort in the early months of His Majesty’s reign, to distinguish from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,”
The couple who tied the knot in 2005 held each other close as they smiled for the camera.
The king, 74, wore a blue suit with a blue and gold tie. The Duchess of Cornwall, 75, matched her husband with a blue dress and pearls to accessorize.
Photographer Hugo Burnand took the portrait in the Blue Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace last month.

Charles’ estranged relationship with his youngest son
Charles took to the throne after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, aged 96, passed away last September.
Since then, the palace has started preps for the historical event. However, Charles’ youngest son Harry might or might not attend his father’s big day with his wife Meghan Markle.
Harry will be celebrating his son Archie‘s birthday on the same day.
Despite all the family issues, the royal staff has begun “organizing logistics for the historic occasion” and “have been instructed to include the [Harry and Meghan Markle] in their program for May 6,”
The source revealed,
“Harry and Meghan are being factored into all of the planning … the cars, the seating plans, dining arrangements, everything,”
“No one knows for certain whether this means they have definitely accepted — it could, of course, be just in case they do — but it’s clearly not a ‘no.’”

Harry and Meghan’s reps revealed that they had received invitations to Charles’ coronation via email. But it is not sure if they accepted it.
