Carrie Underwood shares on her health with her fans post fall and recovery!
- Five months after a fall accident that left her severely injured in the face, Carrie Underwood has shared with her fans an update on her face and health!
She blogged:
“I’m doing pretty darn good these days! My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90 percent there … and the docs say that last 10 percent will come in time. And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while.”
The accident-her fall
Just a few days after hosting the 2017 CMA Awards, Carrie Underwood was walking down some steps outside her home in Nashville, Tennessee when she fell and sustained multiple injuries.
She had to be rushed to the hospital for it. She suffered a broken wrist and grave injuries on her face which needed around 40-50 stitches.
Post-fall, Carrie talked about her wrist which was fractured but did not reveal her facial injuries.
She did not post any pictures of hers on her social media and it was only those about her family and pets. Her fans were concerned and suspected something more serious regarding her health.

The surgery and her posts on social media
She had to undergo surgery on her face for the injuries and had said:
“I’m not quite looking the same, And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different. I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal but, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up.”
Cheers to her husband
During the recovery phase, her husband Mike Fisher who is a hockey player had some matches. As she could not go out due to her facial surgeries and healing process, she used to sit at home and cheer her husband’s game performances.
She wrote:
“I’ve been home to support my favorite hockey player coming out of retirement! I hope you’re all ready for more silly posts of me at Preds’ playoff games! One more run for the Cup! Go Preds!”
She continued to record
But despite her facial injuries, Carrie did not stop to record her music. She loves singing and hence would go to the studio to put her focus on her new albums and songs. She wrote:
“I’ve been in the studio writing and singing a TON, but I’ve also been able to be creative in a way that I’ve never been before, which has been very fulfilling and empowering. I’ve always been lucky to have a voice in the writing and recording process, but this is the first time I am this involved in the production of my music. It’s been challenging and incredibly rewarding to be involved in every aspect from start to finish.”
She has been working on her single called Cry Pretty and regarding the track, she said:
“It really speaks to a lot of things that have happened in the past year and I hope when you hear it, you can relate those feelings to those times in your life. It’s emotional. It’s real. And it ROCKS!”
She will be performing her new single at the 2018 ACM Awards function.
