The new celebrity health fix! Vitamin B12 jabs! Get the expert opinion on it!
- The latest celebrity health fix is a vitamin jab that they take directly into their muscles.
- It seems that the high and economically happy class no more relies on vitamin pills.
- They want something more than pills to boost their energy level and rejuvenate their nervous system.
The vitamin B12 jab
Not long back celebrities were taking vitamin pills and were almost dependent on them for their daily energy. They used to also advocate for them.
Later they switched to having vitamins administered to them via an intravenous drip. And the trending health fad now is the vitamin B12 injections directly into the muscles.
Celebrities are fans of this ‘magical shot’ and these include Rita Ora, Madonna, Lily Allen, Dani Dyer, and Meg Matthews to name a few. Tamzin Outhwaite and Denise van Outen had last week showered praises on it on social media. Tamzin wrote on Instagram:
“For someone who used to have a needle phobia, that went pretty smoothly. Looking forward to feeling the benefits,”
Denise stated:
“Had my B12 jab to help get me through January.”
There were many of her followers did not like this post. One of them wrote:
“Irresponsible advertising.”
Why the craze about these jabs?
Vitamin B12 has a beneficial effect on the nervous system and regenerates new red blood cells. All these reportedly have a positive influence on one s body and provide a feeling of well-being
There has been a rise in cases of celebrities taking to a vegan lifestyle and this is known to cause vitamin B12 deficiency hence people are resorting to such vitamin B12 shots to replenish the level of vitamin B12 in their bodies.
The injection claims to increase body energy levels, and help weight loss, and there have been claims that it improves mental health and eliminates depression. Julie Miles who works for Reviv Global which offers these jabs costing £30 said:
‘There is a huge market now. Some of our clients come in weekly for injections, some twice a week if they’re working towards a specific goal.
‘Some people feel a boost immediately. For others, it might take until the next day, as it releases more slowly from the muscle.’
Reviv Global uses registered nurses to administer the medication but at other centers, this is not the case.
The expert opinion on these vitamin B12 injections
Experts do not agree with these jabs and have their own doubts about them. Nutritionist Carrie Ruxton opines:
‘I don’t know why a healthy young person would need any Vitamin B12 injections, because all they need to do is go and have an egg sandwich, or a nice bit of roast lamb.”
She added:
‘I suppose someone might want to take it if they were strictly vegan, but all you would need to do is take an oral supplement. I would not touch vitamin injections with a barge pole, even if it was a qualified person giving them.’
