Chinese actress and singer, Zhao Wei or Vicky Zhao or Vicki Zhao, 48 confirms that she has legally divorced her billionaire husband, Huang Youlong many years back. This revelation comes amidst the financial woes of Huang.

Chinese actress and singer, Zhao Wei, 48 has posted on Weibo that she and her husband, Huang Youlong, 48 have divorced many years back.

Zhao also goes by the name of Vicky Zhao or Vicki Zhao. She is one of the four Dan actresses who in 2000 was considered bankable along with actress cum model Zhang Ziyi, 45, actress and singer Zhou Xun, 50, and actress and filmmaker Xu Jinglei, 50.

Zhao wrote on Weibo on 28th December 2024:

“I officially divorced Mr Huang many years ago, and our marriage has long been legally dissolved.”

She requested people to not associate her with any of the financial troubles of Huang.

This confirmation puts to rest the speculations that revolved around the relationship of the couple. People believed that the two are divorced but there were no denial or confirmation from either Zhao or Huang. However, the two were no more seen together or active in business or acting field together.

The relationship of the couple

After a number of relationships and heartbreaks, Zhao went on to secretly marry Chinese-born Singaporean businessman Huang Youlong in Singapore in the year 2008. And in April 2010, Zhao gave birth to the couple’s child, daughter Huang Xin who also goes by the name of April.

There are some reports that Zhao married Huang for his money and wealthy connections. Their combined net worth was USD 1 billion equivalent.

Despite the recent Weibo post about their divorce, during the funeral ceremony of the father of Huang Youlong in October 2023, Zhao’s name still appeared in pamphlets and other funeral-related sites as the daughter-in-law of the deceased.

Moreover, on 30 June 2024, Hong Kong-listed Sino Golf Holdings Ltd published their financial report. Both Huang and Zhao are shareholders of this firm. The financial report shows them married still.

Details of the divorce agreement

Zhao did not talk about her divorce until now. But a Chinese blogger has managed to get hold of her divorce agreement.

According to this entertainment blogger, though the divorce got finalized, the marriage end was not smooth. The crack in the relationship appeared when names of both Zhao and Huang cropped up in a money scandal. It was about fraud, misinformation, and manipulation of the Chinese stock market in 2017.

The couple had started having frequent arguments after this. It reached a point when they could not see each other eye to eye. Therefore, Zhao moved to France with their daughter.

Zhao filed for divorce but Huang initially did not agree for it. This was because he thought that Zhao would help him overcome his money woes because he has a lawsuit against him for repayment of HKD 753 million.

However, in the meantime, Zhao deleted all of Huang’s pics from her social media and also gave an impression that she is dating another rich man. Later, in 2021, Huang agreed to the divorce since Zhao was losing on new projects in the entertainment industry.

But, for this, she had to give her stepson and Huang’s son from previous relationship, Huang Yiming, a luxury apartment in Hong kong. Moreover, she was forced to allow the stepson to take business decisions and represent the couple’s French winery. This helped to finalize the divorce in mid-2021.
