Chris Berman opens up about the death of his Late wife Katherina Berman in a car accident
On May 10, ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman and his family spoke out following the death of his wife, Kathy, in a car accident last week.
Berman Family gave the statement to ESPN saying:
“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and sympathy from so many folks we know, and so many others we look forward to knowing. Kathy Berman had a huge heart, and this would have warmed hers beyond belief. It certainly warmed ours. All of us need to keep the family of Edward Bertulis in our thoughts and prayers as well.”
Kathy, the wife of Chris met an accident in a two-vehicle crash around 2:15 p.m. local time. According to the local police confirmation, Berman’s car struck the rear of an SUV and veered off the road, and overturned in a body of water.
The driver of another vehicle 87-year-old Edward Bertulis also died. Bertulis’s vehicle struck a utility pole during the collision.
John Skipper said to ESPN:
“This is a devastating tragedy and difficult to comprehend. Chris is beloved by all his ESPN colleagues and for good reason: He has a huge heart and has given so much to so many over the years. We know how much his family means to him and all we can do at a moment like this is give him the love and support he will surely need at this hour. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris, Meredith, Doug and the entire family.”
