Coronavirus was in France, USA, and Italy even before their first detected affected patient!
- Since the coronavirus pandemic, the world is pointing all fingers with anger toward China.
- They are accusing them of giving rise to and spreading the virus globally.
- But now new evidence has surfaced that reveals that cases of coronavirus existed in France and the USA even before their first reported case.
The new evidence in France on coronavirus presence
French doctors and Paris hospital have stated that coronavirus existed in France weeks before their first reported case on 24 January 2020. China authorities had been battling the deadly virus since December 2019. Hence the name Covid-19.
Intensive care specialist Dr. Yves Cohen from Groupe Hospitalier Paris Seine in Saint-Denis and his hospital colleagues have published their study in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents this Sunday.
France detected the first case of coronavirus on 24 January 2020 in two people who had returned from Wuhan, China.
But Yves states that the virus was already in circulation weeks before these two cases. But the only issue was that none had suspected it at that time.
The methodology of the study
Dr. Yves Cohen and his team decided to analyze the records of some ill hospitalized cases who were admitted with them earlier.
They decided to review their data in light of the new information from coronavirus-positive cases worldwide. They suspected that the virus might have been leading to sickness in patients but remained undetected at that time.
Therefore, the researchers looked at the hospital records of patients who had been admitted to their hospital between 2 December 2019 to 16 January 2020.
They analyzed the data of patients who on admission had flu-like symptoms but whose tests ultimately came negative for influenza. They subjected the frozen samples of these patients to coronavirus tests.
Anderson, they were surprised that one of the tests came up as positive for coronavirus.
More about the coronavirus-positive French patient
The researchers wrote:
“One sample was positive taken from a 42 year old man born in Algeria, who lived in France for many years, and worked as a fishmonger. His last trip was in Algeria during August 2019.”
This man had never been to China and one of his children at that time was also sick. The team concludes that the virus was already infecting and killing people even before the first detected case in France.
In the paper, the team wrote:
“Covid-19 was already spreading in France in late December 2019, a month before the official first cases in the country,”
They conclude:
“Identifying the first infected patient is of great epidemiological interest as it changes dramatically our knowledge regarding SARS-COV-2 and its spreading in the country. Moreover, the absence of a link with China and the lack of recent travel suggest that the disease was already spreading among the French population at the end of December, 2019,”
Similarly, researchers in the USA are also getting evidence that the virus was, already in their country and killing people before their first detected case.
