Darius Rucker and Kate Quigley-the new budding romance

In July this year, singer Darius Rucker split from his wife Beth Leonard. This was after twenty years of married life. And now, page six has reported that the singer has moved on.

He is now in a new relationship with comedian Kate Quigley. When exactly the two started dating is unclear. But it was somewhere during this quarantine period after March.

An insider revealed that the two were first friends and after that romance blossomed between them. But there has been no confirmation on this matter from either Darius or from Kate.

The two have been mum on this issue. They did not also respond to any phone calls and inquiries from the media outlet.

The relationship and the two lovebirds

Darius is the frontman for the band Hootie & the Blowfish. He is aged 54 now. While Kate is a comedian and her age is 38 years old now.

Though she did not confirm her new relationship, it is clear that Kate is also making no attempts to hide it. She had recently uploaded a picture on her Instagram.

In this photo, she was sitting on the lap of Darius and fellow comedian Bronston Jones was sitting next to the pair.

She captioned this post:

“Can’t tell ya how much I love these two.”

Additionally, she and Darius were also at the birthday party of Dave Chappelle this summer. Kate had also mentioned her friend in a tweet. She wrote:

“My boyfriend is a dolphins fan. Now I get why he likes me so much. He has a thing for lost causes.”

One of Darius’ songs talks about dolphins in which he says:

“Only Wanna Be With You,” “Sometimes you’re crazy and you wonder why / I’m such a baby ’cause the Dolphins make me cry.”

Darius and Beth-the relationship

Darius and Beth had met in 1998. He was touring with his musical group while Beth was working for VH1 in New York. They wed two years later in 2000.

They have two children together: daughter Daniella, 19, and son Jack, 15. The singer also has a child daughter Cary, 25 from a previous relationship.

On 12 July 2020, Darius posted on his Instagram that he and his wife Beth Leonard are splitting. He had written:

“Beth and I would like to share that after much reflection we have made the decision to consciously uncouple. We remain close friends and parenting partners and continue to be each other’s biggest cheerleaders. Our priority will always be our beautiful family.”

Later, he added:

“We have so much love in our hearts for each other and will continue to encourage growth and expansion in one other. Please be kind as we take on this journey, and we thank you for your love and support always,”
