DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., shared the news of their breakup on his Instagram Story on October 3, 2024. He wrote,

“Dear friends and supporters, After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. The decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best part forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we shared.”

Despite their separation, he reassured fans that their love for each other remains “deep and true” and continues to be best friends. Moving forward, the rapper stated that both he and Halle will focus on their paths while also co-parenting their son.

In December 2023, the now-former couple welcomed their first child, a son named Halo. He further emphasized that they value “the bond” they have created and the “beautiful moments” they experienced together.
