American actress, Denise Richards, 54 was dating award-winning American actor, Charlie Sheen, 59 in the early 2000s. Charlie proposed to his lady love on 26th December 2001 and Denise said yes.

Less than a year later, the two exchanged wedding vows on 15th June 2002 at the property of American producer, Gary David Goldberg.

Their first child, daughter Sami was born on 9th March 2004. In March 2005, when Denise was pregnant with their second baby, she filed for divorce from Charlie. Denise also requested for a restraining order against Charlie because he had given her death threats.

Charlie was told to stay 300 feet from Denise and his two daughters with Denise. Their second child, Lola arrived in 1st June 2005. Denise went ahead to officially put in her divorce papers in the court of California.

The court granted them divorce on 30th November 2006. Charlie had supervised visitation rights of his daughters. But due to his alcohol issues and criminal charges, in 2010, Denise sought sole custody of their daughters. Charlie did not contest it and gave up his rights over their daughters.

Impact of divorce on Denise Richards’ career

The actress appeared recently on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast and spoke about how her divorce affected her acting career. She said:

“I went through so much with my divorce from Charlie,”
“That it affected my career, and I had a hard time actually getting a job. Because people perceived me as someone that was trying to take down Charlie Sheen, who was on this big show. And it was the network, and the studio, and it was a different time with the way things were.”

Her career revived after she did the reality TV series Denise Richards: It’s Complicated. Denise explained:

“It was hard, so I also had two daughters, I didn’t have Eloise at the time, and I had to work,”
“I did my reality show, and then it changed. Then, I was able to get back to working as an actress again, because I just had to be myself on that show. Because there was so much written in the tabloids about me that were negative.”

The relations between Charlie and Denise have improved over time. They are amicably co-parenting their daughters.

In June 2011, Denise adopted a baby girl, Eloise who has a rare chromosomal disorder. Denise started dating actor Aaron Phypers, 52 since December 2017. He is the ex-husband of American actress, Nicollette Sheridan, 61. The two wed on 8th September 2018 in Malibu, California.

On the other hand, Charlie started a relationship with Brooke Mueller, 47, an American actress. They exchanged wedding vows on 30th May 2008. On 14th March 2009, Brooke gave birth to their twin children, boys, Bob and Max.

But this marriage also did not last and the couple divorced in 2010. It was finalized in 2011.

Later, Charlie dated adult actress, Bree Olson, 24 and model Natalie Kenly, 24 in 2011. Subsequently, he was with another adult actress, Georgia Jones.

In February 2014, Charlie was engaged to adult actress, Brett Rossi. But in November of same year, it was called off.

Charlie went on to have sexual contact with several women. He was also tested HIV positive. Several women sued him for not declaring his HIV positive status to them. The cases were settled out of court.
