Greenlaw went to Fayetteville Public Schools where he played for a Fayetteville High School football team. His team won the Class 7A 2011 state championship.

In 2012, he was chosen for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette preseason “Super Sophomore” team. He began at cornerback, making 53 total tackles, two forced fumbles, five pass breakups, and an interception on a team that repeated as 7A state champions. College Career

Greenlaw played college football at Arkansas under head coaches Bret Bielema and Chad Morris. During his college year, he made 321 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions, and four forced fumbles from 2015 to 2018.

Professional Career

2019 season

In the fifth round (148th overall) of the 2019 NFL draft, Greenlaw was picked by the San Francisco 49ers. He was drafted after the 49ers traded linebacker Dekoda Watson to get the 148th pick. Similarly, he made his NFL debut by recording four tackles and gained a 31–17 road victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the season-opening.

Moreover, during week 9, he made four tackles, leading to a 28–25 road victory over the Arizona Cardinals and his first NFL sack on Kyler Murray. After three weeks, he managed to make a team-high eight tackles, a pass deflection against the Miami Dolphins. He recovered a fumble by Tua Tagovailoa which was forced by Nick Bosa and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown helping the 49ers to secure a 33–17 victory.

In the next match against the Buccaneers, he made a team-high 15 tackles, a pass deflection, and intercepted Tom Brady once in the 35–7 victory. Similarly, in the following week, he recorded eight tackles, two pass deflections, and a forced fumble and beat the Seahawks by 21–13.

During Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs, Greenlaw got a left leg injury after he fell over after coming off the sideline. He could not play the remainder of the game as the 49ers lost 22–25 in overtime. The next morning, it was disclosed that he had torn his Achilles.
