Melissa Schuman claims Nick Carter sexually assaulted her
Nick Carter is in trouble again.
The Backstreet Boys member is facing sexual assault and battery charges once again; this time from singer Melissa Schuman.
On Tuesday, TMZ obtained court documents where the Dream singer revealed that in 2003 Carter performed oral sex on her against her will and even forced her to reciprocate. At the time she was only 18 while he was 22.
In the documents, Scuman further alleges that Nick, now 43, even tried to take her virginity even though she made it clear to him that she was saving herself for marriage.
This is not the first time the singer is making allegations against the I Want It That Way singer. She first accused him of raping her at his home in November 2017. She said at the time ”the Harvey Weinstein allegations” were “a big trigger” for her.
In February 2018, the Setting Sun songstress filed a report with the Santa Monica Police Department in hopes of punishing Carter.
But her hopes failed since the LA County District Attorney’s Office refused to take action because the statute of limitations had already expired.
Carter, for his part, has always denied Melissa’s allegations of nonconsensual sexual contact. Additionally, he filed a countersuit against her in December 2022. He also countersued Shannon Ruth at the time who sued him for allegedly forcing sex on her on a tour bus in 2001. She was only 17 at the time.
In the countersuit, the Quit Playing Games With My Heart singer claimed that the two women were spinning a conspiracy against him.

Melissa slammed Carter and his lawyer
After Schuman went to court, Nick’s attorney, Liane K. Wakayama said,
“Melissa Schuman has been peddling this tale for many years, but her allegation was false when she first made it back in 2017 — and it still is.”
“A judge in Nevada recently ruled, after reviewing the extensive evidence we laid out, that there are strong grounds for Nick Carter to proceed with his lawsuit against Ms. Schuman for plotting to damage, defame and extort Nick, his associates, his friends and his family.”
The lawyer concluded,
“In light of our progress in Nevada, this kind of response is at once both predictable and pathetic,”
“But this PR stunt won’t shake Nick from his determination to hold Ms. Schuman and her co-conspirators to account for the immeasurable pain and suffering their extortionate conduct has caused.”
Melissa hit back at Nick’s lawyer saying,
“I’ve faced extraordinary backlash for standing up for myself; I am not the first, however my intention is that I am the last.”
She added,
“It’s time that powerful figures in the music industry get the message that they can no longer afford to enable and protect sexual predators. I’m fighting to make the music industry a safer place to work and perform.”
