Who is Emily Chrislip? All about her surrogacy journey for Chinese parents!
Emily Chrislip served as a surrogate for a couple in China! It has been a year since Idaho-based Emily is taking care of the baby due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
She gave birth to a baby daughter in May 2020 during the pandemic. There were travel restrictions at the time which prevented the biological parents from coming to the USA.
Emily had an option to leave the baby with the nanny agency but they decided to take care of the baby by themselves. Back in September, Emily said,
“At first, we thought it would be a max four weeks, and then it kept getting longer and longer. We’ve just accepted that we don’t know… but we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The baby’s parents are still caring for the infant as her biological parents are in search for getting a safe way to get to the USA. Emily said,
“I can’t believe how much time has passed. It seems like it’s gone very fast so it’s different when you sit down and think about the situation. But on a day-to-day basis, we just get through it and keep going on about our day and so it doesn’t seem too out of the ordinary anymore. We’re hoping that they will be able to get here before her first birthday in May.”
More on Emily’s surrogacy
The biggest concern for the parents was the restrictions that were commanded due to the outbreak of the virus. Emily thought that the biological parents would not have a problem getting to the USA but they might have a problem getting back. Their initial plan was to bring the parents travel to America.
The Chrislips were going to let them be in the delivery room to be with Emily while giving birth. They had planned to provide them a separate room at the hospital and Emily’s work of giving birth would have been completed but the pandemic changed their plans. They are hoping to give the baby to the biological parents soon.
