Emily Skye is a fitness influencer and one of the most followed social media stars. After eight years of struggle and believing in herself, she has reached where she is now and is loved by so many people. To reach this height, she has struggled a lot.
Let us know about her struggles and successes.
Fitness worth Quadrant Private Equity
Skye is recently in the news for her partnership with Quadrant’s Fitness & Lifestyle Group. This will be making a huge difference in her fitness career as she is ascending day by day.
It is a huge deal as it is worth $750 million to gym brands like Goodlife Health Clubs, Fitness First Australia, and Jetts Australia the private equity giant.
She is very happy with the deal and stated,
“I’m good at the social media side of things and that is something they [Quadrant] really want to do a lot more of, and we will work on partnerships for gym memberships and they’re also looking to expand into Asia as well. So we think it is a very complimentary deal.”
Went through depression
When Emily was in her teenage days, she was a bit more unique than her friends. Her thinking did not match the mainstream society. Hence, she had depression and wanted to suicide.
The main reason for her depression is said to be because of disordered eating and bullying. When she was eleven years old, she had to take anti-depression medicines.
She shared,
“In grade school, they’d make frog noises when I walked past because I had big eyes, and they called me Stick Creature because I was skinny.”
Her mother found a way to help her and sent her to do modeling when she was thirteen. But instead of helping, it became the opposite as seeing the other girls, her self-esteem became lower.
She said,
“I’d go to castings and compare myself to the other women. I would think, ‘I’m not pretty enough or skinny enough.’ But I kept modeling because I needed praise to feel loved.”
Maturing
As Emily was growing, she started becoming mature and stronger mentally as well. When she became, she started gaining confidence in herself.
She then did a lot of hard work and revealed that she used to do cardio for two hours daily and diet-wise, she had carrots, celery, and hummus to stay a size zero.
She shared,
“[I was] on the verge of an eating disorder, but I wasn’t fit or healthy. I had so much self-hate that sometimes I didn’t feel like I wanted to live.”

“The women seemed so strong and healthy. I loved the idea of using weights to transform your body, to look and feel powerful.”
She said that she used to enjoy her workout and after she adopted this lifestyle, she could stop antidepressants and said,
“Before I had this cloudy feeling, and now, the sun was shining. I thought, ‘This is what being alive is like.’ I felt like a superhero.”
