English heiress, Isabelle Lawrence died by suicide in January 2024. And now, it has come to light that four months before her death, her husband, American film producer, Bradley Thomas had started divorce proceedings and custody battle for their two children.

Suicidal death of Isabelle Lawrence

Isabelle Lawrence was an English heiress and daughter of Henry Lawrence and his ex-wife, Penelope Nunan. Henry was the 7th Baronet of Lucknow, British India. On 29 January 2024, she was found dead by the pool of Hotel Angeleno in Brentwood. Postmortem revealed multiple injuries on her body due to trauma.

The forensic experts put her death as suicidal jumping from an upper-floor balcony of the hotel. However, Isabelle left no suicidal note.
The case was closed but the final report is awaited. Her parents and family were devastated. Her father, Henry had said at that time to The Sun UK:

“I have absolutely no idea why this happened or what was troubling her. It is so awful. […] I was last in contact with her a couple of weeks ago.”

Penelope, Isabelle’s mother mourned:

“This is the worst possible nightmare…my daughter is married to an American who is in the spotlight, and he is still trying to deal with it. It is a very sad event.”

The ongoing divorce prior to death

It is learnt that Isabelle and her husband, American music producer, Bradley Thomas, 58 were divorcing at the time she died. On 15 September 2023, Bradley had applied in court for legal separation from his wife and also custody of their two children, twins, 3. The reason for the divorce was put as irreconcilable differences.

Isabelle had 30 days to respond and was told to not take her children out of the state. There was a case review session on 13 December 2023 in Los Angeles at the Superior court, but Isabelle did not attend it. Bradley’s lawyers asked for time to re-serve the summon and file proof of it.

However, on 1 February 2024 after Isabelle’s death, Bradley put in his papers to dismiss the case with no prejudice.

But while all this was going on, Isabelle and Bradley had made some public appearances together. They were at the BAFTA tea party on 13 January 2024. Mike Fleming Jr, reporter of Deadline had also stated that he had seen the duo at the Apple Golden Globes party. It may be that the couple was trying to save their marriage.

Life of Isabelle

Isabelle was born in the UK in Bath, England in the year 1984. She was tutored at a private place. She was a graduate in biological sciences from Oxford University. Following that, she had been an advisor for the former British prime minister, David Cameron. Isabelle had assisted in his Tech City start-up project.

Besides this, Isabelle was a DJ and was also a socialite. Actress Jameela Jamil and singer Amy Winehouse were her friends.

Isabelle had interest in filmmaking. Hence, she relocated to Los Angeles. She was producer of a documentary on kindness. She also made another documentary on pickle ball.

Isabelle dated Bradley and wed him in 2018. Their twin children, Poppy and Grace were born in 2020.
