British supermodel of the 1990s, Georgina Cooper has died. She was just 46 years of age when she died. Georgina was married less than one year ago.

Georgina Cooper and her death

The supermodel of the UK, Georgina Cooper has expired. Her death occurred on the Greek island of Kos that is in the Aegean Sea. Georgina’s agent, Dean Goodman has revealed that the model was with her newly wed husband, Nigel, when she died. The premature death happened around one fortnight back.

It seems that the couple were trying to set up a bar on the island. They also have their family residing there.

Dean stated:

“She loved Greece and told me that she was going back with her new husband – but she has tragically died there a fortnight ago. Georgina had been unwell during Covid and had developed some health problems and had been in and out of hospital.”

He added:

“But she had plans for the future. She had just married and was looking forward to her life. Everybody is devastated. She was a genuine superstar.”

Who was Georgina Cooper?

Georgina was just 13 years old when a modeling agency discovered her. She had a natural charm that captivated everyone. She got fame when she was part of a music video of rock band, Bon Jovi. At that time, her age was 15.

Georgina was also a close pal of famous faces in the modeling industry such as Jodie Kidd, Kate Moss, and Helena Christensen. She was the famous face of Cool Britannia aesthetic in the 1990s. She was also called as London’s original gap toothed girl.

Georgina was also a muse of the famous photographer, Corrine Day. She has been on the cover of popular glossy fashion magazines such as Vogue.

Georgina left the limelight to focus on her son, Sonny. She had also started a hospitality business in Kent.

The relationship of Nigel and Georgina

Georgina walked down the aisle with Nigel in the town of Maidstone in Kent in June 2024. It was an intimate wedding at a local pub. Later, Nigel and Georgina went for a honeymoon to the Greek island of Kos. They returned from their honeymoon. And now this October, they again took a trip to the island. Unfortunately, Georgina was suffering from the health complications of covid-19 disease and succumbed to it.

On 21 October, 2024, Georgina had got unwell. She was treated in a hospital in Kos. Since there was no improvement, she was airlifted to a tertiary center in Crete. But she died five days later. Initial reports claim that she had brain hemorrhage due to covid-19 complication.

Georgina’s friend, supermodel Jade Parfitt expressed:

“Her friends and family are absolutely devastated, Georgina was a ray of light, a very popular model who was riotous fun, always laughing and being naughty in all the best ways. We all wanted to hang out with George backstage. Her achievements in the industry were huge.”

British fashion model Erin O’Connor stated that Georgina was a ground to earth person whose company was enjoyable and warm.
