Eric McCormack and Janet Holden’s marriage is in trouble
Eric McCormack and his wife Janet Holden are going their separate ways after 26 wonderful years of marriage.
As per TMZ, the Will & Grace alum’s wife filed for divorce on Wednesday. In her filing, Holden cited irreconcilable differences and sought spousal support.
She is requesting to end the court’s ability to provide Eric with any spousal support. The estranged couple shares a 21-year-old son and does not have any minor kids.
However, she didn’t list her date of separation from the actor.
While it is unclear why the couple decided to call it quits after years of marriage, fans are upset about the news.
Internet users had their own versions of why the couple might have decided to end their relationship.
One commented,
”She was just trying to make it over 25 years because then she gets 75% of everything according to her marriage stipulation. She was tired of being his beard.”
Another wrote,
”I dunno. I think he has a really dark side to him.”
A third one added,
”26 years is a long time. Don’t know what happened to their marriage.”

McCormack and Holden’s short relationship timeline
The 60-year-old Golden Globe nominee met Janet on the set of Lonesome Dove in 1994.
McCormack told the Guardian in 2007,
”I met my wife, Janet, in 1994 on the set of a TV series. She was the assistant director. I was just coming out of a relationship, and not to be trusted. I’d been dating actresses but Janet was different. She wore jeans, drove a pick-up truck …”
The actor added,
”At first she wasn’t too keen. She knew actors are a lot of work: it would be like taking your work home with you. But I managed to convince her. We had a secret affair the first season.”
”I mean, dating crew! Actually, it was much worse for her, because she wasn’t supposed to give any of the actors preferential treatment.”
After finally convincing Janet, the couple kept their relationship very private due to Janet’s position. In 1998, Eric told People that the ”mystery and danger … was fun.”
After some time, the lovers proudly turned up arm-in-arm at the ’95 wrap party.
Two years later, Eric and Janet tied the knot and welcomed their son, Finnigan in July 2002.
Before welcoming their son, McCormack started acting in the famous long-running sitcom show, Will & Grace.
The Broadway actor also played Will Truman from 1998 to 2006, going on to reprise the role from 2017 to 2020.
