Voicemails
On the night of 1:23 pm, a voicemail was on Euna Chavis’s phone which was from Faith Hedgepeth and her roommate Karena Rosario. Euna deleted the voicemail as she thought it was an accidental pocket dial.
She said,
“I realized I had this voicemail from her in the middle of the night, but it sounded like music playing in the background and staticky fabric rubbing up against the phone, like a pocket-dial.”
After she found out about Faith’s murder she called the cellphone service provider and retrieved the voicemail. In 2016, a forensic audio expert found that there was some evidence that may help to solve the voice.
He said,
“The first thing I noticed is there were four voices here — two male voices and two females.”
More on the voicemails
The conversation on the voicemail includes,
1st female,
“Ow, my head. … Ow! Help me! Get off me!”
2nd female,
“Do it.”
1st male,
“I think she’s dying … Do it anyhow.”
He also heard that female no.2 was threatening 1st female. After that, a male called the name Rosie, and the second female called the name Eric. They suspected that Rosie was Karena Rosario and Eric was her boyfriend Eric Takoy Jones.
But due to the time of 1:23 am, police thought that they were at the nightclub. Similarly, the forensic audio expert believes that The timestamping and voicemails were sent incorrectly. The case of Faith Hedgepeth is not solved even after eight years due to the timestamp not matching.
