Cara’s publicist, Judith A. Moose, announced her death news on Twitter on November 28, 2022, Saturday. The legendary singer passed away at her Florida home while her death reason is yet to be configured.
Ms. Cara who was a former child actor, dancer, and singer, was a multi-award receiver. In 1984, she won the Oscar for Best Original Song and the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance.
Irena Cara also bagged a Golden Globe for the best original song as one of the writers of Flashdance … What a Feeling, the title song from Flashdance.

The American singer who rose to fame in the 1980s was born Irene Escalera on March 18, 1959, in the Bronx. She was of age 63 when she passed away in her Florida home.
Her mother, Louise Escalera, was a cashier, and her father, Gaspar Escalera, was a musician cum worker at the steel factory.
Ms. Cara was a brilliant child while growing up, she attended music, acting, and dance classes as a child while growing up in New York. She was able to play the piano by ear at just the age of 5.
Irena was a graduate of the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, a school for child performers and children studying the arts.
In her early teens, Irena was a regular performer on Spanish-language television on a children’s broadcast, The Electric Company. The late performer was also a member of its band, the Short Circus.
