Filipino actress, Rufa Mae Quinto and her husband, Trevor Magallanes are divorcing!

Filipino actress and comedian, Rufa Mae Quinto, 46 and her husband, Trevor Magallanes, 39 have initiated their divorce procedure, Trevor revealed on his Instagram Story.

Trevor Magallanes reveals his divorce from Rufa Mae Quinto

The husband of Filipino actress, Rufa Mae Quinto, 46, Trevor Magallanes, 39 shared some sad news on his Instagram Story as regards his marriage. He wrote:

“Hey guys, I felt like I need to explain myself based on social media and all that. I want to make myself clear that Rufa Mae and I are in the process of a divorce,”

Further, the financial analyst added:

“You may be aware that divorce can be very devastating to the children but also to the parents. That said, my marriage has been a s*** show and I am sorry for that,”

Trevor is eager to have some quality time with his daughter with Rufa, Athena:

“All that matters to me at this time is getting through the divorce as best as I can and spending time with Athena. Happy holidays!”

The relationship timeline of the couple

Rufa met Trevor in the USA in the year 2016. Later, they started dating and exchanged wedding vows on 25th of November in 2016 in the city of Quezon, northeast of Manila in the Philippines.

Rufa got pregnant soon after and gave birth to their first child, daughter Athena on 18th of February, 2017. She and her daughter reside in Philippines while Trevor has work in the USA.

Rufa used to fly to and fro between Philippines and USA with her daughter to be with Trevor when time permitted. It was a long-distance relationship.

There are reports that Rufa had applied for US green card for herself and Athena.

Earlier Rufa had a relationship with singer-songwriter and politician Dingdong Avanzado in 1999 and 2000. After her split, she dated actor Rudy Hatfield who was her co-star in Masikip sa Dibdib: The Boobita Rose Story. But they parted ways in 2004. Subsequently, she had a relationship with singer Erik Santos.

Rufa Mae Quinto’s legal troubles

The divorce news comes amidst the legal woes of Rufa. She has been accused of fraudulent activities. Her attorney, Atty. Mary Louise Reyes stated that Rufa was issued an arrest warrant. And she has been charged on 14 counts of violations of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code.

These charges relate to her association with the company, Dermacare. Former actress, Neri Naig-Miranda is also in prison following an Estafa complaint against her which is under the non-bailable offence.

Rufa has denied all charges and involvement in any scams. She said:

“Let me state this unequivocally: I HAVE NO CONNECTION WHATSOEVER TO ANY FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY AND I CATEGORICALLY DENY THESE BASELESS ACCUSATIONS. IF ANYTHING, I AM ALSO A VICTIM AND I AM DETERMINED TO SEEK JUSTICE,”

Rufa added that she has worked ceaselessly all these years and not allowed any tarnish on her reputation. She is dedicated to her work and has integrity that she will never lose.

“As a public figure, I have always demonstrated professionalism, transparency, and respect for the people and brands I work with,”

Rufa continued:

“It is dejecting to see my name being dragged through the mud, but I remain steadfast and confident that the truth will soon prevail.”

She vowed cooperation in the investigation and added:

“Let us allow justice to take its course, and I humbly ask for your patience and understanding as the truth unfolds,”
