Sonya Eddy, a veteran actress best known for her role as nurse Epiphany Johnson on the soap opera “General Hospital,” is no longer alive among us.

The actress was just 55. Her one of friends actress Octavia Spencer confirmed her death in a heartbreaking Instagram post. Spencer wrote in her Instagram post,

“My friend @sonyaeddy passed away last night. The world lost another creative angel. Her legions of @generalhospitalabc fans will miss her,”

Well, the death cause of the late actress Sonya Eddy hasn’t yet been disclosed. “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini also took to social media to pay tribute to beloved Eddy. Frank went on to say that he was “heartbroken about the loss”.

He said,

“I truly loved her, not only as an actress, but as a friend,” the post read. “The lights in the hub of the nurse’s station will now be a little dimmer, but her spirit and light will live on in both the show and our set,”

Adding to that, he concludes his statement by stating,

“On behalf of the entire GH cast and crew, we send our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and fans. She will be very missed.”

Eddy’s death sparked an outpouring of shock and grief across the entertainment industry. As soon as her death has been confirmed many took to social media to convey condolences and tributes to the 55-years old actress.

One of her loved ones commented on Spencer’s Instagram post,

“This can’t be. She was a staple in my house growing up. The best nurse on GH,”

“Very sorry for your loss. May she rest in eternal peace.”
