Marriage with Jake Wood
In April 2013, Petersons was engaged to her boyfriend, Jake Wood, the son of Jeff Wood and Chris Wood. They, later that year, on August 10, exchanged vows in New York in front of their family and close friends, amid a private ceremony.
Jake is a former United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper, who previously served for four years in Iraq and Afghanistan. The couple is happy together and has yet not planned for a child.
Career Debut and Continuation
Petersons started her career in 2002, as a meteorologist for KVIA-TV, an ABC-affiliated television station located in El Paso, Texas, United States. The same year, she also went on to KEYT-TV, an ABC-affiliated television station in Santa Barbara, California.
In 2003, Petersons became a meteorologist and weather producer. She reported on environmental and general assignment issues at KABC-TV in Los Angeles. Petersons held the position until she left for CNN’s New Day show in 2013.
Moving to CNN
Indra left KABC-TV for CNN’s New Day show in 2013. There, she did weather segments for CNN Newsroom, both national and worldwide segments.
Apart from that, Indra also appeared in several shows on the news channel. During her time with CNN, she worked with Chad Myers, Brooke Baldwin, Poppy Harlow, and Christi Paul.
Petersons was also the contributing expert throughout all of CNN’s programs wherein, she reported on how science impacted the earth, ranging from earthquakes to asteroids, in addition to covering the breaking news.

Moving to NBC
