Gloria Borger and her wedding
Gloria Borger, 71 was born in New Rochelle in New York on 22 September 1952. She studied at New Rochelle High school and completed her education there in 1970. Later, she joined Colgate University and graduated in 1974.
Gloria’s father, Richard Borger, had an electrical distribution company called Borger’s. At Colgate University, Gloria was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She met Lance Morgan at Colgate University. He was her senior and did his master’s in journalism from Columbia University. Lance’s father, George Morgan was involved in an independent gas and oil production in Texas.
The two, Gloria and Lance, wed on 8 September 1974 at the Beth‐El Synagogue in New Rochelle. Rabbi Philip Weinberger officiated the wedding ceremony. Gloria is Jewish. After their wedding, the couple went to UK. Gloria did her further study there under the Watson Traveling Fellowship. While Lance did free-lancing. He used to work with The Buffalo Courier‐Express as a reporter prior to that.
Children of Gloria and Lance
There are reports on the internet that Gloria and Lance together share two children. Both are sons. One of their sons, Evan Morgan was born to Gloria in 1985. There is not much mentioned about her second son. Neither his name nor year of birth is available.
Her son Evan is a partner of the Washington-based venture-capital investment firm ‘Revolution Growth’. It has heavy-hitters such as AOL founder Steve Case and Capitols owner Ted Leonsis on its list.
Evan met Mary Anne Huntsman, the daughter of former Utah governor and Republican presidential hopeful Jon Huntsman Jr. and his wife Mary Kaye in 2013 through a mutual friend. This friend was Lynn de Rothschild, who is a major Huntsman political backer and whose son was a college friend of Morgan’s.
Mary is an accomplished concert pianist and is one third of the ‘Huntsman girls’. She is the eldest daughter of her family. She had campaigned for her father in 2012 and her social media posts were an asset for him. The two, Mary and Evan, exchanged wedding vows on 17 October 2015 at their age of 30.
What did Mary say during the wedding?
Prior to meeting Evan, Mary had dated actors and musicians. When she met Evan, she was a bit skeptical about their relationship. She felt that he was straight-laced. Talking about the earlier days, Mary said:
“He was completely boring to me,”
“I mean, I grew up around that, and I never thought I’d end up with a guy like that.”
To add to this, her first two dates with Evan were no great. Elaborating on it, Mary said that at the first date, Evan was in gym clothes. And for the second date, he arrived three hours late. Despite this, she gave him a third chance. He charmed her at that time.
Mary explained:
“I joke that the third time was a charm,”
“I was just at a time in my life when I was ready to be with someone normal.”
The two families met each other after that and they accepted the other child. The wedding was in Montana and Mary who grew up as a Mormon converted to Judaism after the wedding.
