They share a strong bond and commitment, yet they have opted not to formalize their relationship through marriage so far.
However, the 57-year-old Australian actor was recently spotted wearing a wedding band at the 34th Annual Gotham Film Awards.
This led to rumors about their possible marriage. The event took place on Monday, December 2, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
The Memento actor showcased a thick silver band on his finger, which seemed to have an engraving, as he confidently walked the red carpet at the awards ceremony.
Pearce received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Performance for his role in The Brutalist.
For the event, he wore a grey checked suit with a stylish jacket, a white button-down shirt underneath, a black tie, brown boots, and black-framed glasses.
At one moment, he was photographed adjusting his tie with his left hand, prominently displaying the wedding band.
In a 2022 interview with The Natural Aristocrat, Carice van Houten humorously responded to a question about her marital status by asking,
“Do you see a ring on this finger?”
Well, she was not married at that time. However, since she now has a ring on her finger, her marital status may have changed since then.

Guy Pearce began dating Carice van Houten a few months after his divorce from his ex-wife, Kate Mestitz, in 2015.
They first met while filming the movie Brimstone and have been in a relationship since then.
In an interview with Andrew Denton in 2018, Guy revealed that Kate chose to end their 18-year marriage.
He expressed his heartbreak over being labeled a “b*****d” by fans who thought he left Kate for Carice.
The Priscilla, Queen of the Desert star further clarified that his romance with Carica started only after his separation from Kate.
Similarly, Guy admitted feeling blindsided by Kate’s sudden decision to end their marriage but emphasized that he still loves and respects her.
The Neighbours actor currently resides in Amsterdam with his partner, Carice van Houten, who is 48 years old, and their son, Monte Pearce. The couple welcomed their first child in 2016.
In an interview with The Independent last year, Pearce shared that becoming a parent has profoundly changed his perspective on life and has made him more emotional.
He recounted a poignant moment when someone told him,
“You realise you’re now living with your heart on the outside?” And it really is true, isn’t it?”

“When I started acting, I knew if I needed to cry that it could come out easily. Then after 15 years of therapy, I became a far calmer and more satisfied human being, but trying to cry in a scene became impossible. Since having my boy though, I cry at the drop of a hat again…”
Earlier that same year, he spoke to Who Magazine about the challenges of being a new father at the age of 53. He explained,
“Having a young child at the ripe old age of 53 is a lot, but I am focused on spending all the time I can with him and being the best dad I can be,”
Furthermore, Pearce expressed a desire to take Monte to Australia in the future to experience the wildlife, as Monte has only seen Australian animals in a zoo in Amsterdam.
