Mom murderer, 32, announced her separation from her husband Ryan, who is a school teacher, on Thursday, March 28. She wrote on her respective Facebook page,
“People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou. I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am,”

The separation news comes just three months after Blanchard was released from prison. In late December, she was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri.
In 2016, she pleaded guilty to plotting to murder her mother, Clauddine “DeeDee” Blanchard, with then-boyfriend Nicholas “Nick” Godejohn.
She served more than eight years in prison while Nick was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

In 2020, Gypsy met Ryan while serving a 10-year sentence for the second-degree murder of her mother. The two regularly wrote letters to each other while Blanchard was in prison.
Their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship and married two years later.
In July 2022, Gypsy and Ryan tied the knot in a jailhouse ceremony with no guests at Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Center.
After her release, Blanchard also shared her plan to marry Ryan again outside of prison in a December 2023 interview with PEOPLE.
“We do plan on having a reception/redo wedding with all of our family and our friends and the dress and the cake and everything because we deserve that. I deserve that. He deserves that, Our prison wedding was just something to where we can make our vows to each other. It was something that meant something to us. And I think the party is kind of for everybody else and us, but mostly for everybody else.”
Similarly, she expressed her excitement about moving in with Anderson and starting their life together. She said,
“I’ve never lived with a man, I grew up with a mom, so I didn’t even grow up with a dad in the house. So, I’m like, ‘I don’t even know what it’s like to live with a man.’”
