Harry Styles believes therapy gave him a new life direction
Harry Styles said he felt therapy was only for those who were broken. The world-famous singer admitted that going to therapy has helped him open up and made him feel more alive.
Styles started going to therapy five years ago and has never been happier. He said that it has given him the courage to face any problem life has offered since then, rather than running away from them.
In a recent interview given to Better Homes & Gardens, Harry openly shared that therapy has opened up rooms inside him that he never knew existed.
Harry explained:
‘I thought it meant that you were broken, I wanted to be the one who could say I didn’t need it.
He continued:
‘But I think that accepting living, being happy, hurting in the extremes, that is the most alive you can be. Losing it crying, losing it laughing—there’s no way, I don’t think, to feel more alive than that,’
Harry Styles explained how lockdown helped him
The British heartthrob explained that the lockdown gave him a big chance to get away from his hectic lifestyle and allowed him to process so many things in life.
He said that he along with his therapist had to work on finding out why he needed to feel so accepted.
He confessed:
‘But I think that accepting living, being happy, hurting in the extremes, that is the most alive you can be. Losing it crying, losing it laughing—there’s no way, I don’t think, to feel more alive than that.’
Harry explained he felt he needed to give away so much to be liked by the public. He further explained that he was always scared of saying anything wrong in interviews while he was a member of One Direction.
It is shocking to know that the boys had cleanliness clauses in their contracts which meant they would be null or void if they did something out of line. Styles said that it always terrified him.
However, Style’s decision to go to therapy has solved his problems of emotionally coasting through life.
