RIP! Heather Armstrong dies at the age of 47
Heather Armstrong, known by her blogging moniker “Dooce”, is no longer alive among us. She was just 47.
Her death was confirmed by her boyfriend Pete Ashdown with a heartbreaking statement on her respective Instagram handle on Wednesday, May 10.
Pete shared her selfie alongside her passing news that reads,
“Heather Brooke Hamilton aka Heather B. Armstrong aka dooce aka love of my life. July 19, 1975 – May 9, 2023. ‘It takes an ocean not to break.’ Hold your loved ones close and love everyone else.”
He told The Associated Press that Armstrong died by apparent suicide at her Salt Lake City home. Besides, Ashdown noted that the author had recently been relapsing following 18 months of sobriety.
Further, there is not much detail available regarding her demise.
Heather is survived by two daughters Marlo, 13, and Leta, 19, whom she shared with her ex-partner Jon Armstrong.

She showed gratitude towards her elder daughter in her last April 6 blog post for supporting her amid her sobriety journey. Dooce wrote,
“Here at 18 months sober, I salute my 18-year-old frog baby, she who taught me how to love. One of Leta’s greatest talents is the way in which she views the world. Her photography resembles 8 mm film footage. She sees heritage in the mundane, value in the slightest change of hue. She extracts light from every shape and shadow.”
