Helen Mirren, 76, and Taylor Hackford, 77 completed almost 25 years of togetherness, and more years to go!
While speaking to PEOPLE magazine on Friday, April 29, a Veteran Hollywood star talks about marriage with Taylor Hackford ahead of their 25th anniversary. When PEOPLE questioned, “how does Taylor Hackford make Dame Helen Mirren feel beautiful?”, she replied,
“Oh, he doesn’t!”
She then added with a laugh,
“I don’t think he ever makes me feel beautiful. It’s not necessary. That’s not what I love him for, honestly.”
The couple will celebrate their silver wedding anniversary in December 2022.

How Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford’s romance remain Persistent?
The power couple exchanged the vows on December 31, 1997, and since they have been keeping the spark alive in their romance. The iconic British actress also shared the key ingredients for long-lasting love.
She disclosed,
“You know, I believe in unconditional praise from one’s loved ones. I don’t want any criticism. And I give him unconditional praise likewise — more or less. We allow each other to do our own thing, and get on with it.”
The actress, who is currently the cover star of PEOPLE’s Beautiful issue went on to explain,
“A really important part of love is to maintain your own sense of identity. In a way, that’s the most important thing of all, to not subsume yourself into someone else, far from it. Be honestly and authentically who you are.”

Mirren revealed that the COVID lockdown was the first time in her career that the pair were able to spend a considerable amount of time together. She told PEOPLE,
“I’ve worked every year since I was 20. Covid was the first time in the whole of my life I’ve not worked for six months,”
She then added,
“But what was valuable for me was that I got to spend time with my husband and sit across the table from him every night for six months, which I’ve never done before, and not worry about or even think about work.”
