The highest altitude fashion show on land! Nepal sets a new Guinness World record!

They are popular and held at regular intervals. But recently, Nepal joined the ranks of famous fashion shows by hosting the world’s first highest-altitude fashion show on land.

Nepal sets a new record in the fashion world
The Himalayan country of Nepal with its peace-loving people has set a new world record in the field of fashion. They now hold the world record for the highest altitude fashion show on land. By doing this, the country has entered into the Guinness Book of World Records.

The fashion show which took place recently in the country of Nepal was part of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign which the Nepal Tourism Board initiated. And the campaign aims to draw more tourists to this heavenly destination with its scenic beauty, flora, and fauna.
The name of this record-setting fashion show was The Mount Everest Fashion Runway. Furthermore, RB Diamonds and KASA Style with the assistance of the Nepal Tourism Board organized this great event. And the venue for this event was at an altitude of 5,340 meters (1,7515 ft) above sea level.
This place, Kala Patthar is near the Everest base camp and the event happened on 26 January 2020.
The participating models were from different parts of the world such as Finland, Italy, Sri Lanka, and Singapore.

Kedar Bahadur Adhikari who is the secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Nandini Lahe Thapa, the senior director of the Nepal Tourism Board the attendees along with many others.
Nandini, Aashmi Rana, and pilot Lt. Col Pratap Bohara served as technical witnesses for the official adjudicator of Guinness World Records.
The aim of this Nepal fashion show
The main aim behind holding the show at such a high altitude was to stress global warming and make people aware of its threat to the world. Besides, the show aimed to promote sustainable fashion.
On Wednesday 29 January 2020, Nepal Tourism Board issued a press release in which they said:
“The designs, patterns and the materials used during the Fashion show were all natural, organic and all Nepali product line from KASA. The clothing line was made of Nepali Pashmina, Felt and Yak Wool, ideal for winter wear,”
A Nepali environmentalist sent out some Tweets about the show.
