What happened at Highland Park on July 4th Parade?
On Monday, Robert E Crimo started a mass shooting at the July 4th parade in Highland Park. The incident took the lives of seven people and injured at least two dozen excluding those who died.
Journalist John Dodge reported the live event and also showed armed police persuading Crimo to surrender. In the video that circulated online, cops were saying,
“Do me a favour, get on your knees, get on your knees lay down flat on your stomach”
Robert E Crimo was identified as a suspect by Highland Park police Chief Lou Jogmen while it took 8 hours to finally take him in the custody.
Highland Park Shooting charges on Robert E Crimo
Robert E. Crimo, III, 22, is charged with seven counts of first-degree murder after he shot more than 30 people on the Independence Day Parade at Highland Park, Illinois.
As per the Lake County State’s Attorney, Eric Rinehart believes the suspect of the Highland Park Shooting Robert E Crimo is the convict. Further, the attorney added,
“dozens more charges against Crimo will follow centering around each of the victims such as attempted murder and aggravated battery charges.”
Further, he added if he is found guilty, Crimo could face a mandatory life sentence with no chance of parole as per the press conference. Prosecutors are planning to ask a judge to keep him in jail with no bail in the July 6 hearing.

What about the victims of the Highland Park Shooting?
Five people died on the scene, the sixth died after being transported to the hospital. Meanwhile, the seventh one died the next day as reported by Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek.
Authorities on the incident, Lake County Major Crime Task Force spokesman Chris Covelli revealed that the gunman was dressed as a woman during the shooting process.

“During the attack, [he] was dressed in women’s clothing and investigators do believe he did this to conceal his facial tattoos and his identity and help him during the escape.”
Crimo allegedly had a fire escape to access the roof of a building before firing off more than 70 rounds during the assault.
