In her book, Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself that released this January, Crystal has revealed that she had a traumatic marriage. There were sex-filled parties and orgies. Hugh was into opiate addiction and his sex method was odd and robotic.
And now, Crystal appeared on the Hollywood Raw podcast and asked the viewers and her fans for ideas to get rid of her wedding ring. Crystal queried:
“I still have it because it’s like, what do I do with it? I mean, if you guys have any ideas, what do you do? Do you just hang on to it forever? I don’t want it,”
The wedding band probably reminds her of the frightful past. Crystal had revealed that she had to undergo counseling to overcome the trauma of the relationship.
Crystal and her engagement ring
This is not the first time that Crystal has been trying to do away with the gifts and presents that the late Playboy businessman gave her. In 2011, after her engagement to Hugh, Crystal had called off the engagement for less than a year before exchanging wedding vows with him in 2012.
Ar that time, an upset Crystal had tried to get rid of the engagement ring by selling it at a San Diego jewelery shop owned by one of her high school friends. But her friend secretly called the paparazzi to get fame and she was picturized and portrayed as selling the engagement ring for money.
On the podcast, host Dax Holt asked her about that incident. Crystal said that it was not how the paparazzi portrayed it. She was not desperate for money but only wanted to rid it. She admitted that she is not comfortable talking of the incident. But, nonetheless, she went on to narrate what had happened at that time.
Crystal’s engagement ring selling incident
Dax asked Crystal:
“So that became a really big news story about, because it was like them saying it was a $90,000 ring, you were selling it, they caught you. Do you, you know how they knew it? Or was there a tip off or was there anything that went down that gave them advanced notice?”
Firstly, Crystal corrected:
“Well, first off, the ring was about $40,000 or $50,000.”
She continued:
“I dunno, this gives me a little PTSD because I thought, ‘okay, I don’t know what to do with this. Do I sell it? Do I, whatever?’ And it made it seem that I was desperate for money or something, which wasn’t the case. I just wanted to get rid of it.”
Further, she elaborated:
“I’m like, okay, somewhere I feel safe and not attacked from everyone and I don’t know what’s going to happen, so I can go to this person’s jewelry store if they want it, they can buy it and whatever.”
Crystal added:
“I’m talking to them and my little friend seems a bit nervous, and then TMZ pops out and in my face, ‘What are you here? What you’re selling this ring?’ “
She ran out of the shop crying. Talking about how the paparazzi reached San Diego, she stated:
“No, they called him to try and get attention on the jewellery store… He completely set me up for a shout out for his jewellery store.”
