Hunter Fieri is engaged! In November, he announced his engagement to his girlfriend Tara Bernstein.
The couple got engaged less than a year after dating. The Celebrity chef’s son, 27, shared pictures from the romantic lakeside proposal, including the moment when Fieri got down on one knee in front of his now-fiancee with a ring box.
The eldest son of Guy Fieri has made a customized ring for his fiancee Tara Bernstein. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Hunter revealed that he considered every factor while creating her ring because it had to be “perfect”.
“We’re very open, and as we were discussing wanting to be married to each other, we looked at some rings, and I got a feel for what she wanted, And then I worked with a buddy of mine to make a custom ring for her, and I wanted it ti be really special.”
He continued,
“My goal in life is you do this once, and when you do it once, it’s got to be perfect. So I made a ring for her that I think signifies my love for her.”
While working on the ring, Hunter also thought about his fiancee’s profession. He described,
“[The designer] made it a little thicker band, with the crown being a little bit thicker, so that if she did hit it on a ball, or on a paddle, you’re not kicking that rock off, So I made it a little extra durable, a little bigger, just for the fact that I don’t want her to take it off.”

Tara is a 28-year-old professional pickleball player from Queens, New York, who grew up in Gleen Oaks. She is the daughter of Joel Bernstein and Debbie Desoto.
She went to Bayside High School before graduating from Pace University in 2018 where she received a degree in communications.
During her college years, she won an NCAA Championship while studying sports broadcasting. She was also fortunate enough to secure internships with several professional teams, including the New York Mets, an experience for which she is forever grateful.
She shared with PEOPLE,
“Originally, I wasn’t really expecting to get it because I was a college student playing in the same season as the job, But I really was eager to just get that experience. When they hired me, I felt so grateful because growing up as a Met fan… it was a full circle moment.”
Bernstein spent over eight years working as a producer and digital creator for the New York Mets before embarking on a new journey as a sponsored pickleball athlete in 2022.

In 2022, The Queen native was signed by a leading sporting goods brand, Franklin Sports as an athlete and a creator.
She is presently best known as a sponsored Franklin Pickleball Athlete, influencer, and advocate for women in sports. Tara travels globally for pickleball tournaments, partnering with brands, and organizing events.
Besides, she also participates in celebrity philanthropic sporting events and charitable initiatives.

When did Tara Bernstein began dating Hunter Fieri?
The newly engaged couple began dating in February shortly after they first met at the 2023 NFL championship game.
Tara gushed about their first meeting with PEOPLE, recalling,
“We’re all dancing, having a great time. I turned around and I’m like, ‘Hey, can you take a video of me?’ and it was Hunter.”
She laughed and said, “That was literally it.” He returned her phone and they parted ways, later reuniting at the Super Bowl with their respective groups. She also noted,
“We didn’t exchange contact info, nothing.”
The two crossed paths again at the concession stands during the game. Fieri revealed that they connected quickly on a deep level, he explained,
“Literally by a ketchup and mustard stand, we’re standing there and we’re just chatting and we’re just talking and hanging out, And next thing we know, the game’s over We missed the half time.”
