Is Ike Turner Jr. still behind bars to this day?
Yes, Ike Turner Jr., the son of late legendary singer Tina Turner and Ike Turner is still in custody.
On May 6, he was arrested for crack cocaine possession and tampering with evidence just weeks before the death of his mother, Tina Turner.
PEOPLE confirmed the report that the 64-year-old was pulled over during the early hours on 200 N. 6th St. for an equipment violation after police officers noticed one of his white 2013 Ford Fusion’s lights was out.
Similarly, upon further investigation officers said they found 1.7 grams of crack cocaine and .7 grams of crystal methamphetamine which he reportedly attempted to consume in possession during the traffic stop.
Capt. Q.T. Arendell of the Alvin Police Dept. said,
“He tired to eat the drugs before the officers could seize them from him,”
He was accompanied by a 32-year-old woman in the car who was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
As of now, Turner Jr. has been detained at the Brazoria Country Jail and has not posted his $70,000 bail to this moment.
Sadly, he couldn’t attend his mother’s funeral as he is still in the custody.
His mother, Tina Turner took her last breath on May 24, 2023, after a long illness in her home in Switzerland. She died at the age of 83.
Turner had a successful career of over 60 years, selling more than 100 million records worldwide.

How was Ike Turner Jr.’s relationship with his late mother Tina Turner?
Ike Turner Jr. and his late mother Tina Turner appear to have a tumultuous relationship. In a 2018 interview with the Daily Mail, Jr. disclosed that he hadn’t talked to his mother in over a decade.
He told the outlet,
“When my mother and father separated, he did not want me working with her — and he beat me in the head with a nickel-plated .45 pistol,”
He used to work as Tina’s sound engineer following his mother’s split from her abusive ex-husband. His father, Ike had battled a spiraling cocaine addiction since the 1970s.
In 2007, he died of an overdose at the age of 76.
Before his arrest, Ike Jr. played in a tribute band, The Love Thang Band, alongside singer Sweer Randi Love. Last year, the duo released the single “Yes to Life”.
