Jackie Miller James is gradually coming out from a coma
Lifestyle and beauty influencer Jackie Miller James has been recovering from an aneurysm that led her to a medically induced coma.
On Sunday, June 2, James’ family member gave an update about her condition via her Instagram page with happy news. The statement reads,
“We are beyond thrilled to share that your loving prayers for Jackie have been working! Jackie is awake and was recently transferred to one of the best neurological rehabilitation hospitals in the country. The doctors have been pleased upon her latest tests, numbers, and evaluations, noting that Jackie is performing above expectations at this stage of her recovery and is progressing more with every passing day.”
The family concluded the statement while acknowledging she “has an incredibly long road to recovery ahead of her” and asked her followers to keep sending “prayers, love, and support”.
The 35-year-old influencer has woken up after a month of coma. Similarly, she will meet her daughter for the first time after giving birth.
Jacki has established an impressive fanbase on Instagram through her beauty and lifestyle content. She has now more than 80,000 followers on Instagram.
Over her pregnancy period, she often shared her pregnancy journey on her page.
What happened to Jackie Miller James?
One week before the due date for a baby girl, Jackie collapsed in her California house and was discovered by her husband Austin.
She was then brought to the hospital’s emergency room, where doctors delivered her daughter, Knoxly Rose, through an emergency C-section. She eventually went into a coma after suffering a brain aneurysm rupture, which led to severe bleeding and injury.
The beauty influencer thereafter underwent at least five brain surgeries. The newborn, on the other hand, was kept in the NICU for 12 days before going home.
Her sisters Natalie and Nicelle shared,
“If Jackie and the baby arrived a few minutes later at the hospital, we likely would have lost both of them. But instead, Jackie is continuing to fight for her life each day and we are optimistic she can beat the odds by surrounding her with the right specialists and methods of therapy.”
Similarly, the family set up a GoFund page to “provide a way for family and friends to help Jackie secure the highest level of care”. They raised more than $3330,000 and the funds have not been used so far.
However, they plan to donate the funds to such families in similar situations or to charities.
